I'd honestly give him a goal and tell him to shoot the ball 10 times a game. See what shots he takes. Doesn't matter if he misses all of them. Let's just see what he does with those shot opportunities. If anything, it'll build his confidence up a bit.
You have to experiment sometimes as a young player, and don't be afraid to do it. he tries to be perfect, which means he is too tight on the court many times. If Frank tried his 1-2 dribble and pulled up for a shot, and missed. Nobody would be mad at him for it.
