Maybe that is the plan...again...to keep losing for another year, IDK. And while it doesn't make sense, and it doesn't seem right to reward poor play with a starting gig, but I still feel starting Len and playing him at least 25 mpg gives us our best chance at winning.
Additionally, it's obvious our PG situation is not good enough to win; we need a real PG, which has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum as well.
If McD does not bring in a PG within the next week or two, then IMO, it is clear that this is yet another 'Tank' year. He can 'spew' and 'spin' all he wants, but the truth of the matter is, we do NOT have a starting PG on our roster, and anything he says to the contrary is just his attempt to 'hide' the fact that we are tanking, again...
I know that you are a Len's fan, but did you watch the game? Len was horrible out there. And when I say horrible I mean HORRIBLE.
He made mistake after mistake on both sides on the floor and a 60 years old Bogus outplay him. And he deserves to start? I don't think so.
Chandler is old and he doesn't protect the rim, but at least he rebounds pretty well and comunicates on defense.
Len is a solid backup C in the league, not less not more. Hopefully he improves a little his consistency and he would be one of the best backup Cs in the league.
Actually, he's a terrible backup in the league, a lot less, and a lot more. This is my point. When Len has been given the starting nod, consistently, he plays well. When he's juggled around...12 min one game, 37 minutes the next, only to be followed up with another that's 18..., and then 29...(hypothetically speaking), is when he's at his worst. That's my point. Not just one game. Pointing out how horrible he was this game just further emphasizes my point.
What is the harm in letting Len start the remainder of the season? Or at least give him 15-20 games to prove himself. I guess we could start winning, but other than that, it's not like teams are going to come asking for Chandler's services and are going to pay us more based upon his play this year, or whether he's starting or not.
I get that Len is horrible in a lot of games he plays, but he's better in games where he starts and plays a lot of minutes, that is all I am saying.
Len has played 4 games this season of 25mpg or higher:
--consequently, those are the only 4 games he's had dbl-digit TRBs.
--2 of 4 of those games he's had 2 Blks (no other games with multiple Blks)
--his FT% was 82.6% (73.2% in others)
His FG% is actually worse in those games, but his other stats are better...at least this season.
