I like it, especially if we load up on wing players in the draft.
(Miles Porter, Jr. seems like he'd fit in well between Noel and Taurean in the frontcourt.)

Serious question: Might there be too much overlap with John Collins?
They play the same positions, have the same weaknesses offensively and occupy the same space on the floor.

Serious question: Which player has the higher ceiling between Noel and Collins?
I like both. Noel is clearly the superior defender while Collins offense is light years ahead of Nerlens'.

First, the man's name is NewOrleans Noel. Nique said it, so I believe it. 8-)

Didn't you kinda answer your own question regarding potential overlap? Despite being somewhat similar in stature (for lack of a better description), their games are sufficiently different IMHO.

Also, if we end up with BadonkaDoncic, New Orleans Noel would be a really good pickup. We'd also need to pick up some wang scoring. We really need a shooter/scorer at the 2. Wish we could've kept THJ instead of BazeL. :(

I agree that Noel could thrive in a wide open system like ours beside a pass first wing like Luka.

When I say overlap, I can't see a scenario where we could play Collins and Noel at the same time. JC Kid is currently working on his three point shot, but as it stands, neither player spaces the floor or is a great passer.

They both make great PnR roll-men and would be beastly in transition, but their combined lack of range limits how they could pair.

Add'l Note: Similar to how he didn't pair well with Okafor and/or Embiid.

Dallas and Chicago are serious about getting that top pick. With injuries Brooklyn will be there too. Despite losses the Hawks are playing pretty well. It's going to take some trades to keep this Hawks team in the bottom three.

Lebron, oops, Rich Paul is still his agent.
He may be forced to a take a 1 year deal similar to another Rich paul client in KCP.

I'm sick of Lebron's bullcrap. He's such a tool on the court. While I agree with him about Jax, trying to intimidate a rook you just insulted is bush league. I'm ready for Kanter to flatten him.

Weelllll, I gotta defend the King of Hairlines on this one.

Knicks were all riled up to begin with and the young Frenchman tried to exhibit some fake toughness IMHO. James kinda just stood his ground. Now, should he have just been above it? Yeah. But he didn't seek out the guy, the guy sought him out.

Kanter's all talk, no akshun. He showed that in OKC when he had nothing to say when Westbrook got decked on the court but had all kinds of smack to talk when he was out after breaking his own hand. Weak

Maybe i missed what happened before but i didn't see anyone seeking anything out but lebron. I saw Lebron dunking then standing over the kid while he tried to pick it up to inbound it. What's the point of that? Why's he standing there? Is he about to do a one man full court press? His whole team is already at the other end of the court.

The Frenchman took a path meant to cross James. This can be debated but, let's be honest, I'm usually right and you're usually wrong 8-)

As I said, James should've risen above it and just went behind the guy but he chose not to.

Was it pointless? Yeah but I don't think he was trying to belittle Frank Nitti. Certainly not to the point where it should draw such outrage from a gentleman such as yourself.

Are you not paying attention to the Cavs, Jay? LeBron has to string the bows, sharpen the arrows, feed the horses and lead the vanguard into battle. His throne gets less use than Spud's treadmill because he has to sweat all of the trivial stuff.

Ahead of the matchup between the two best teams in the league:

Steve Kerr says Boston Celtics look like 'team of the future in the East'

The Boston Celtics' long winning streak has caught Steve Kerr's attention.

The Golden State Warriors head coach raved about the Celtics on Tuesday night, saying the look like "the team of the future in the East" two days before a highly-anticipated early-season matchup.

"They're really sound and they're motivated," Kerr told reporters. "It's a team that's been on the rise the last couple of years...
But it sure looks like Boston is the team of the future in the East, with the assets that they still have and their young talent and their coaching, and Kyrie (Irving) is amazing. That looks like a team that is going to be at the top of the East for a long time to come."

Kenny Atkinson: Al Horford not Kevin Garnett, but impressive as defensive quarterback

Another day, another coach praising Al Horford's evolution.

After several great seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, the big man has remade himself with the Boston Celtics. Horford hasn't changed everything about his game (why would he?), but has shifted some of his offense behind the arc, taken on more playmaking duties and defended like mad.

Former Hawks assistant Kenny Atkinson, now the Brooklyn Nets' head coach, has admired Horford's development from afar.

Atkinson: "Sometimes as coaches we hold back guys sometimes. I can even see with Brad he's doing even more things than he did Atlanta. I see him handle the ball a lot more at the top of the key and bringing the ball up sometimes. It's impressive. I know Al was thirsty and hungry to kind of embrace that new big man role. And he didn't shy from it. That was the thing that impressed me in Atlanta. When we asked him to do more, get out of his comfort zone, he embraced it, rather than some guys they don't embrace that role.

In my dreams, an Al Horford-->D Ayton frontcourt is the Hawks version of D Robinson-->T Duncan that propels us to greatness.

In my dreams...

Al is thriving in Boston but he's not that much different from what he was here. And when he was here all the pundits called him a 'good but not great' player. Now he's the guy that makes everything work for the best team in the east. Kudos to Al for knowing where to go to actually get someone to notice you.

With Kyrie Irving and Al Horford on the floor together, the Celtics have been fantastic on both ends, outscoring opponents by more than 16 points per 100 possessions. But with Irving playing and Horford sitting, it's been practically the exact opposite.

Interesting trends regarding two (oddly) polarizing players.

Not taking anything away from Al but who is on the court when Al is off? Is this really a condemnation of Kyrie or how horrible Aron Baynes is or the frontcourt depth in general.

^A very valid question.

Maybe that swing would be less drastic if they had a better backup.

(Dedmon for a late 1st rounder, anyone?)

Reports are emerging that DEN turned down trade packages for Kyrie, Eric Bledsoe and a lesser offer to send Jameer Nelson away for a 2nd rounder.

What is their Front office doing up there? They seem unwilling to make any aggressive moves to improve their standing in the loaded West.

I saw that. Murry/Chandler/1st for Irving was a move they should have made i think. I they need to do something.
