Often times there are people in management positions that have no perception to obvious human reactions that are in front of them. We have seen this time and time again with this front office, Dragic is promised keys to PG position then we bring in Bled and IT, Dragic requests trade, IT traded for number of reasons. Then he trades Marcus and is surprised Markieff asks for a trade none of us were surprised when this happened and most called it when Marcus was traded. Then Bledsoe gets shut down after years of losing on this team and listening to trade rumors, and yet they are surprised he asks for a trade, so much that the prime opportunity in the off season came and went and we missed out.

Next on the list? Will be Booker wanting out or leaving. I don't care how much he says he loves it in PHX and wants to stay, the human reaction to this situation as we have seen with many players recently, is that he will bail for a better team.

Moral of all this, stop treating players like chess pieces and assets, yes this is a business, but these are still people and they will react to the **** you do to them.

I wouldn't blame Booker one bit if he left tomorrow. First three years in the league, two coaches fired, multiple trade requests, competitive players and bonafide nba talent traded away for these draft picks with potential. I as a fan don't have any faith in this management anymore, forget being a player who has the option to get paid in a bigger market and play for a better team.

I've been saying this for years. It's McD's Achilles Heel. He has yet to prove that he has changed his ways and instead has done the opposite. He's continued to be 'blindsided' by these trade requests from his own disgruntled players and when they leave, he's left disparaging remarks just to get in the last word. He's done well with trades and he's drafted fairly well but the way he's handled his players will be his downfall.

Booker is his first true star player he's drafted and while I'm not too worried about Booker not accepting a max rookie extension at this point, he needs to do better when it comes to treating players like people. Players and front offices understand it's a business but it's these kinds of unsavory actions which will stop top free agents and our own FA's from engaging in business with us.

We'll find out soon he's eligible for a 5 year max in 7 months.

relax. Booker is going nowhere. No rookie contract FA turns down a max extension.Maybe worry about him leaving and wanting out when he's 25 if nothing improves. But not now. (source: been through it with 2 of these guys already)

Also Ainge and Morey treat players like assets as well. players still lining up to sign.

Winning cures everything. Draft or develop another star along side Booker in the next 3 years and phx is on their way

Yeah, people keep talking about us losing him due to frustration. Well we have 6 or 7 years before we have to start thinking about that. People have taken the QO, but not anyone who was offered a max.

Booker's been hot from 16-23 feet with a positive correlation between these shots being assisted and FG%.

His shots in this range have been assisted 52% of the time compared to 32% last season.

And he's shooting 56% compared to 36%.

And all that without a competent PG. Shows what difference ball movement can do for a team compared to whatever the F Watson was trying to do last year.

Those are crazy FG% from Klay...of course he's probably wide open a lot more than Booker. If Booker was playing with Steph and KD I imagine he would get a lot better shots.

And again, all without playing in an elite offense or next to an elite PG.

Booker's a beast

Note: Klay and Beal are not the main guys on their respective teams. We expect (demand) Booker to be our savior that will take us to the promised land.

That makes it more impressive, especially considering he is 6 and 3 years younger than those guys. But yeah, it would be nice if we had someone even better, or two guys better. Then we'd be rolling.

It is very impressive. Just not impressive enough if we expect him to carry us on his back. We need help, help that is even better than him. But I guess this is a consensus. It's just how we'll get this help that people differ on.

Devin Booker can without a doubt be the #1 offensive option on a contender when he hits his prime. He is the definition of clutch already.
