I'm not saying what Werdum is doing is right but in most circumstances, if you insult a person's heritage or countrymen, you can't expect a handshake and a hug .

I just really hate that Covington is stepping on Brazil just to build his name. It's classless, it's tacky and it can only take you so far.

Is there video of how this incident actually started? Or just of the boomerang incident? Because you say Werdum "stood up to" Colby like Colby was specifically attacking him. I can almost guarantee you that Werdum initiated this issue to defend the honor of the place he was randomly born within the arbitrary borders of (the same place he left as soon as he got the means) - a la Wand attacking Chael for the same reason.

When I say stood up, I mean stood up for his countrymen

From what I've read in your post, it doesn't seem like you're even remotely offended by Covington's approach to building his name

Imagine if say Brock was coming after a WW with physical assault because said WW called some dumpy American city a dump. We would be calling for his head and rightfully so. But for whatever reason Brazilians get a pass on their irrational nationalism - to the point of using it as a justification for assault. Its always been a headscratcher to me.

Yea I'd say if calling someone "filthy animals" like this is Goodfellas is offensive to someone then they may need to get thicker skin.

Its just so transparent to me what he's doing. Its not even interesting - at all, and its been done before many times. He's like a less accomplished Chael without people writing his material for him.

Conor has said much more offensive things IMO. The whole I'm the conqueror come to take over bit, for example.

Plus, if you can't tell, I find the whole concept of nationalism weird and irrational.

Brock would only get upset if someone insulted Canada.

If he said it to people in low socioeconomic areas in America, you think they wouldn't be offended? They'd just tell each other that they should have thicker skin? I'm not even that patriotic or anything and I would still be offended if they called my countrymen a pack of filthy animals because it's these people that make up the society I live in and enjoy living in. It's not about a flag or borders that I care about, it's the people.

We all know what he's doing but it's completely classless just like Chael except with worse execution. Conor has said more offensive things and I don't think he shouldn't be held in the same high regard people seem to hold him.

IDK man maybe they would be offended but even so it doesn't justify assault which is my main point. I'm personally from a welfare/meth county in Appalachian Tennessee - it doesn't get much dumpier and I wouldn't be mad at anyone for saying so and certainly wouldn't assault anyone for it. That thought is so weird to me that it's hard to even fathom honestly.

It doesn't justify assault and as I've already said what Werdum did was not right.

Talk about a low key event. I sorta kinda knew the UFC is coming to my city but I totally forgot it was happening this week until this whole thing and they're staying in a hotel I walked past every day which is pretty cool

Have you watched the **** video yet? Have you listened to Werdum's story how it started? Where's Colby's side of events?

Colby says he'll see him soon, after back peddling and calling him a ****.

Just because Colby is a troll doesn't mean he's allowed to do what the **** ever to build his brand.

Why the **** are you bringing up Chael? He shoved Wand first in the show.

I'm anti-nationalistic just as you are but if somebody says, man, I **** hate Mexicans and then provokes a Mexican guy, he's **** asking for it. If I went up to a cheesehead bar and unprovoked said, man you Wisconsinites are all **** trash, I'm asking for trouble.

I watched the video where Werdum assaulted Colby with the boomerang but not the one where he assaulted Colby with his fists. I didn't hear audio where Colby called Werdum a f*g which is what I said earlier. The video I saw wasn't close enough to capture that, the only audio was of the people filming it. Where is the link to that and the article where Werdum gives his side?

Getting you your links!

But first...

Jon Jones is on Werdum's side. https://www.mmafighting.com/2017/11/16/16667528/jon-jones-feels-sad-for-colby-covington

The way Colby keeps on going off on Brazil along with calling Tyron, Tyrone just makes me think he's got a problem with people outside of his own race.

That's because Colby called out Jones for being fake, they loved together for two years, and he said he was into hard drugs, partying, cheating on his wife and then preaching the bible whenever he was on public.

I was watching the Werdum vid as you posted, thanks for the link. So according to Werdum Colby approached him and called him a Brazilian animal, he slapped the phone out of Colby's hand, Colby kicked him, then later Werdum "handed" him the boomerang (he was kidding about that part I think).

I have a really hard time believing Colby called him a Brazilian animal unprovoked, you saw how much he wanted a piece of Werdum from the boomerang video.

Obviously if the punch never happened that's a good thing for Werdum. Obviously if the Colby personally provoking Werdum story out of nowhere is true then that's a good thing for Werdum.

Well see what Colby says. Rumors from aherdog earlier said there was video of, and a witness to Werdum punching him.

Maybe you are right about Colby. Or maybe Werdum just has a short fuse and needs to take a few laps. I forgot about him front kicking Edmond too.

So Edmond, Rockhold, Tony and now Colby have all been in confrontations with Werdum. Seems like a common thread. Dude had more enemies than a Diaz brother at this point.

Tony told him "hold on, I'm talkin brotha" and Werdum just talked a whole bunch. Nothing happened.

A front kick to Edmund who was talking **** and walking towards him?

Not getting along with Rockhold? What did he do wrong? It's so long ago I don't even remember what or why it's a thing but people are allowed to dislike each other.

I'm as anti-Jones as it gets but the dude knows Colby and is calling him a racist. I'd have way less of a problem with him if he just talked **** about Werdum afterwards but he right away went to talking about how all Brazilians are trash makes me think he's doing that a lot in his life.

NEVER in my life have I went off and said, "XXXX group are all trash". (besides Packers fans, y'all suck)

Dude Jones calling him a racist was based on the Brazilian crap, not some past event as far as I know. Brazilian isn't a race, btw. The last Brazilian he fought was a white guy, the Gracie's are Scottish, etc. Tons of diversity in terms of race in Brazil.

It all started with the "this city is a dump" stupidity. Then it escalated into "Brazilians are animals" garbage when he had all the crap thrown at him after his last fight. Apparently they had to hire extra security and he couldn't leave his hotel room when he was there, etc. That's when he escalated it.

I'm not condoning any of that btw. I'm just saying it's not surprising you haven't done it, you haven't tried building your name in a fight promotion either. Ariel was giving a list of wrestlers (Colby is apparently a wwe guy) who Colby is modelling this whole schtick after.

If somebody said, "I **** hate Mexicans", I'd say they're racist but if we wanna call Colby xenophobic, then that's cool too.
