Not sure why people think he was talking trash by saying that, Whiteside recorded a few triple doubles with blocks.

Because of the whole deal Embiid had with Whiteside on Twitter where he called him #softy and told Whiteside all he cared about was his own stats. Here’s a breakdown.
https://www.google.com/amp/ftw.usatoday.com/2017/10/joel-embiid-hassan-whiteside-nba-preseason-social-media-fight-beef-twitter-instagram/amp
He was trolling Whiteside by saying he wanted stats.

He didn't play dumb like he did the first few games. He didn't camp outside the paint too much. He didn't turn it over. He didn't take too many dumb shots. I love this Embiid.
Looks like he's gotten comfortable playing with Benjamin. When you're at this level and there is legit talent around you, you get to do more by doing less. JoJo understanding that he doesn't HAVE to be post player, perimeter threat, playmaker, because they have folks to fill all those roles means he CAN do those things when the chances come to him. Do more by doing less. It's why Covington is getting paid, it's why Fultz should be able to mesh easily when he comes back healthy, hell it's why pickup games at the park are more fun because mofos actually understand to cut when their man is out of position. JoJo can relax and just be the best bigman in the league because Benjamin, Roco, JJ, Rio, TJ, and Just-In Anderson understand how to play with talent.

Re: The Legend of Joel Embiid
Embiid and Covington are the best defensive tandem in the NBA. With both of them in the 76ers have a 91.2 DRtg (Irving and Horford are second, 91.6).

How are we in the middle of the pack in defense then when you add Simmons who is also good on defense? Is this a Brett Brown defense thing? How are the Celtics so much better on D than us? Even with black hole Saric on D I think we should be better on D. It makes no sense. We have 3 good defenders in our starting five and TJ is good on D too.

With Embiid 96.4. Without him 110.5. He's missed 2 games too, out of 14. That's going to affect our DRtg when it's so high without him.

Saric seems like a culprit, but Redick actually has the second highest DRtg on the team lol.

It is funny that what was once thought to be a strength, back up center, is a complete hell hole now. You would think among Okafor, Noel, Holmes and Amir, we'd have a decent back up center that can man the post while Embiid sits. Back up center is a huge problem right now. It probably will continue to be a problem at least for this season. I don't hold out much hope that Holmes, Amir or Okafor will improve drastically on defense. Good news is we may have help on the way next season with Lessort, Bolden and maybe a high draft pick or two.

It's 106.6 with or without Amir in the game.
124 with Holmes in. 126 with Okafor. Believe it's also a huge number with Dario at center.

129.8 with Dario at center according to NBAwowy, but they have different figures on the other guys (Jah 133.3, Richaun 129.4, Amir 99.2, Joel 97.7). Not sure if something is off with their database right now.

May have not updated, they seem to take a while to.

Seems up to date, but just off. At least their minutes data is, so I wonder what else (might just be issues with rounding numbers).
