I love how all the guys above him are legitimate superstars. I'm more impressed by his field goal percentage tho. How many first year players come in the league and shoot above 50%? Has it ever been done by a guard with such a high usage before?

TBH, if you're that big and only shoot within 6ft of the basket, shooting above 50% is a minimum to me (not to deny his qualities)

This is where Ben Simmons ranks in every category, in the entire league. A Top 5 player in the league in assists and steals... and a top 20 player in efficiency and rebounds.

Assists 5th
Steals 5th
Efficiency 13th
Rebounds 17th
Points 39th
Blocks 57th

I’m so happy I don’t have to choose between Simmons and Embiid.

Agreed, but I think it takes a lot of maturity to only take those shots. And after doing two seconds of research, looks like Jordan and magic both shot above 50. Magic and Ben's numbers look identical right now.

I mean so did Okafor. It's nice but if he's not making threes and being a bad free throw shooter that's really the floor of what he has to do to be a second scoring option on a good team.

MJ and Magic were up near 60 TS% as rookies when Ben is down at 53%. (So was Okafor)

Obviously not comparing him to Okafor, he can get his points without bogging down the offense, he does a lot other things on the floor ect.

I was mainly talking about guards, but I get what you're saying.

Is it too early to start an MVP chant at games?

Ok we got a glimpse of Ben. If the Bucks offered to trade Giannis for Ben would you do it? I highly doubt Ben will ever be as good as Giannis on D. And Giannis may never be able to run the offense and get players involved as well as Ben. So would you trade Ben for Giannis?

That's a tough one. Very tough. I'd be tempted to do the swap and choose Giannis based on where they are right now but I am not sure why.

You'd be making a decision based on which player would want if it was game 7 of the finals and needed them to win you a ring. Which player is going to be more valuable in that situation... and bare in mind getting to the rim is not easy in the finals.

At this stage I don't know because you either want them to hit the game winner or set up the game winner for someone else. Given that neither Giannis nor Simmons are reliable jump shooters that means you want them drawing attention and then giving off the pass. If that's the case you'd want Simmons.

It's going to come down to who gets a jump shot. If Simmons can ever get a jump shot I would take him. If Giannis gets one I would take Giannis. So if asked to do a trade right now I would say no... just because of the unknowns.

As great as Giannis is(One of the most talented Players ever) we have yet to see if he can lead the Bucks to be a contender.. or hell even to a lets say 50 Win season. Ben on the other hand is already the main Reason your Team is 8-6 right now in his first year.. It took Giannis till his 4th year till he got his Team over .500

As insane as his stats are what impresses me most with Ben is that he seems to be the ultimate winner. He will do anything he can to win. Thats so incredibly rare.

Ben so far has shown one of the most impressive Characters i have seen from a 21yo in my 19 years of watching the NBA..

And people keep saying Giannis has better two way Potential because of his defense but so far Ben has actually been so much better on defense than advertised its not even funny. 1.9 Steals and 0.8 Blocks with a Top 10 (7th) in Devensive Box Plus Minus..(Ahead of guys like Draymond and guys like that..) Ben is by far the best Defensive Point Guard in the NBA so far. His DRPM of 1.49 is so much better than No 2 on the list at 0.95 ... Ben does this while running the Offense while still learning the Game.. What he can do on both ends in 2 or 3 years i cant even imagine..

Ben isn’t a PG though. Those stats are deceptive. Ben is a point forward because PGs aren’t allowed to be over 6’6. Those are the rules. What are Ben’s stats compared to PFs? That’s his real position. He’s a point forward not point guard. Point forward. He’s in the wrong category. That’s why his stats looks good. He’s being compared to guys he’s 6 and 7 inches taller than. Lol. I’m not serious. I’m just joking. Just showing how silly that point guard vs point forward debate is lol.

And after Embiid has his incredible LA Lakers game, his position drops a couple places

GSW game probably has to do something with that too

Yeah, it’s weekly or bi-weekly. Think his rating ultimately went up, so did Covington’s, but they lost ranking cause others went up more. Turbulence of the top I guess.
