I wanted Kemba in that draft so badly. Damnit, why do we do the things that we do? I just want a good team to root for.

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion Pt. 3
If we were looking for someone this season who could actually become an asset going ahead (cause we would have to pay him in the offseson) I would still say Marcus Smart is the one guy I see possibly worth assets and possibly available seeing Ainge likes assets when he might lose a guy. Smart has game changing ability on defense (like bled was supposed to have), he has good size and athleticism, all the while he is not a selfish me first shooter pg, but has offense and can shoot. He is someone who competes and he in my opinion is the odd man out in Boston at the end of the season. With Kyrie/ Hayward, starting and Rosier /Brown (they obviously love both terry and Jaylen), I can't see them paying Smart what he will command come this off-season. Can't use all of these damn picks and Boston may covet big man help in the playoffs and assets going ahead. Hey... Len is a 7 footer and we have more picks than we need AND can eat unwanted salary?!?!?! I don't know, just spitballin?!?!

If Smart could at least shoot a little bit, he'd be great, but he is shooting 27% from 2 and 26% from 3. Booker would be double teamed every position because no one would guard Smart on offense.

Like any of the mediocre to bottom feeder teams of the league the Suns don't have the "guy". A consistent go to/makes others around better/teams defense need to shut down/can't stop type player. This is Booker's third year. With Bledsoe gone it's completely his team now.
Chriss is really starting to look like the long lost Morris triplet. His body language never looks good.

It was worse. No, actually we shot the ball really well for most of the game until our 2nd unit mostly played to finish the game. We were over 60% for a while, then dropped to mid 50%, but the main thing is the Rockets were on fire and wouldn't miss, even when they were guarded fairly well. Harden was on absolute fire from 3 and the line.
The refs were also calling ridiculous fouls all game.
The worst parts about the game were Mike James and his shooting performance, and Chriss trying to block shots jumping at people at the 3 pt line who would inevitably miss their shot but then get 3 free throws. He kept doing it too like he had forgotten he had just done it and that it was a dumb thing to do.
Len was pretty clumsy as usual but did pull down a lot of boards.
The positives were Monroe looked really good. Warren was efficient going 7-11 and adding 3 assists a steal and some boards. He is about the only player who didn't rack up a bunch of fouls. Booker had a decent game passing with 10 assists, though it came with 5 turnovers.
And then Jackson probably played one of his best games..maybe his second best. Very good defensively, shot well...still was a bit out of control at times and turned it over but hounded guys defensively and would stick on them like glue.
As bad as the score was, I think those 4 guys looked pretty good, and then Daniels was on absolute fire from 3, particularly at the beginning.
Houston just had an insane shooting night and a lot of help from refs on top of that.

And the 50th season rolls on as one of the worst ever for any franchise. Worst home opener in NBA history. Second most points given up in a half. Laughingstock of the league. Lakers second home court.

We are a laughingstock.
Our defence is an embarrassment to the game of Basketball.
That is all

That's actually a really good idea. Wow!
I'd love to see him share the position with Ulis. But I'd think he is too far removed from the game to come back and be effective....unless he is playing overseas???

I️ would love Barbosa back. Wouldn’t mind him starting either. It’s that bad.
Did anybody watch mike James last night? Every damn time he touched the ball he tried to score and not once did he look for his teammates. I’m not exaggerating either, he DID NOT PASS THE BALL. F’in bum

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion Pt. 3
Showcase Monroe and trade him period. He got easy points in the paint only after the game was long gone and Houston stopped playing defense. In the early stages of the game, he was awful. ESPECIALLY on the defensive end. I mean wow...he really has no place on the court in today's modern NBA on the defensive end. It was like Houston was playing us 5 on 4 with him out there.
I just wonder what we could actually get for him though. I don't see any stars getting disgruntled at the deadline (they all already have been traded in this crazy offseason). So, we can't use a load of draft picks plus his expiring to lure a star here. Very unlikely.
I think the only option is to pawn him off to a team that wants to make a run at a free agent this summer and needs cap space. But that means taking on a bad contract which could effect our own 2019 plans AND...what is cap space worth? Maybe a late 1st rounder?

The problem is, we don't want to lose any meaningful assets for an option that is not a long-term solution. So I'd be happy taking on a veteran PG in the short-term to stabilize things - I'd even be willing to give up a 2nd rounder for one. But I'm hesitant to take on a George Hill (not a long-term solution, IMO) or any other PG who is not a really good fit.
John Wall and Mike Conley would be good fits, but aren't available. Boston's not dealing Rozier. Detroit won't deal Ish. I can't imagine Philly would accept (more) second rounders for TJ McConnell... but maybe if we took on Bayless? Still I doubt. Shabazz Napier? Jose Calderon?
Nothing realistic looks good.

Also, been seeing a lot of keeping Greg Monroe talk, why the hell would the Suns keep him? Gotta trade him to get some value back. He’s not resigning here.

Suns should also look to trade Daniels at the deadline. He’s not resigning here either and would rather see the minutes go to Davon Reed next season. I️ would trade Monroe + Daniels to a playoff team for a first rounder.

Pretty sure Daniels is signed through next year to a very cap friendly like 3.2 mil. He is worth keeping for his shooting alone unless something benefits us.

How can it be the worst ever for any franchise if there are 4 teams worse than us this year at this point?

Acually - now that Triano is the head coach and I see the good young talent - I am actually optimistic about this team
I think I am okay trading Chriss, the Heat pick, Daniels, any second rounder, Monroe -
but I think this team is on the right path
