Nashty: Game 17 @ Lakers

Post#1 » by batsmasher » Sat Nov 18, 2017 5:51 am

Standings

How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

+3 Book: As long as Devin Booker is in a Suns jersey, we at least have some kind of hope for the future. We better lock him down as soon as possible.
+2 Len: Still has no idea how to guard centers that stretch the floor, but he was great on the boards and did a good job attacking the rim.
+1 Ulis: Shot well, distributed, pressured Lonzo. Best game of the season for him.

HM Dragan for shooting the 3 well, couldn't give him a + with Kuzma lighting both of our youngsters up though.

I know Len almost had 20-20, but I hate how a lot of his rebounding comes from "out hustling" his own teammate. Watching him against Houston, he had 13 rebounds but it seemed he was only giving effort when there were like 3 of our guys around him, and he allows so many offensive boards it's crazy. I don't know why he doesn't know how to box out, but I'm kind of getting tired of him. Like, I cannot tell you how relieved I was to see Greg Monroe vs. Houston. He can catch the ball, maintain possession and use his body to create space and FINISH on the offensive end. I really hope that can rub off on Len, but I'm not as impressed by this performance as some of you guys are.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Finally. I can't understand this hype for Len. He didn't even play well for my taste. I just gave +1 to him for the padded stats.

+2 Len - credit where credit's due. 18 rebounds with 6 of them on the offensive end and he was efficient as well on offense
+1 Booker - it's starting to become normal for him to be putting up an easy 30 so it'll become harder to give him +3's so I'm really looking at his other numbers especially FTA's, assists and rebounds.
+1 Bender - Hit some huge 3's, loving his confidence and I love his ability to switch on defense.
+1 Ulis - Had a great game by his standards
+1 James - not efficient offensively but 9/8 off the bench was huge for us.
