Looking forward to see Derozan vs Beal.

Although it's Lowry who Beal seems to clown mostly. Remember when he waved goodbye when Lowry fouled out?

Damn lol.

I was very excited and my posts in the thread show it.

It's funny looking back at the reactions and how a lot of them were grossly incorrect.

I'm beyond happy I was wrong. I didn't think he'd be terrible, I just had very low expectations in year one. He's far surpassed those.

To be honest, I think I was more frustrated about the Ibaka situation in June than us drafting OG. I liked what I saw on the YT montages but I wasn't sold on his handle or passing.

What I discounted at time was that he'd be playing alongside better players. It's also why his athleticism doesn't look off the chart insane like you saw in those YT vids, the NBA is IT. You can go from looking like a super athletic freak in college to an avg athlete in the NBA when you're on the same court as Porz/AD/Westbrick/KD/etc. It's all contrast. Case in point, Ben Simmons. Having NBA caliber players next to you affords you the opportunity to showcase parts of your game that weren't readily evident on footage in college.

And he'll only get better once his conditioning improves and he works on his strength base in the summer. Not the most fluid player in the world but this is a top 10 rookie that dropped to us in the 20s. That never happens to us. I'm happy I'm wrong.

I want to always be wrong about this team.

Wizards scored 29 points in the 1st half vs the Heat. Almost pulled off a comeback win.

Raptors going to have to bring the defense from the Knicks game. No let ups. Hopefully Norm is back.

going to the game...we need to get off to a good start like last game and hopefully not be in a deficit once it's time to sub in our 2nd unit. Our 2nd unit has been our bread and butter in making runs and I expect that to happen once again with the Wizards having inferior depth (Oubre being the only player they have off the bench that could potentially do some damage). Put OG on Beal from the start to prevent him from getting hot.

We need this win. It could potentially give us a slight edge over Washington in the Cousins sweepstakes come trade deadline when Cousins decides he wants out.

It would seem Powell isn't making much progress with the hip pointer. Guess that means more Brown :-?

https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/basketball/news/raptors-norman-powell-doubtful-sunday/

Powell (hip) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Wizards.
Powell has missed the team's past three games while nursing a hip injury. He seemingly hasn't made too much progress in his recovery, as it's unlikely he'll be able to take the floor Sunday.

I think his acl injury has a lot to do with that. He's still off the charts athletic from what I've seen so far, he just makes it look so effortless and doesn't really slam it down emphatically but he gets up really quick.

The first clip he gingerly jogs baseline and he barely gathers yet gets up pretty high quickly. He just doesn't add that oomph when he slams it so that kind of takes away from his explosiveness

He has a point in saying it's not a rivalry. At least not yet. If the Raps face them and beat them in the playoffs, then you can start to say it is, especially if they see each other after in the playoffs too.
