Every year the Pacers seem to be in the Orlando Summer League which is like the unwanted cousin of the Vegas Summer League. Very low production, typically you don't see the top rookies there, and so on. Welp, the Orlando Summer League is no more and the Pacers will be playing in the Las Vegas Summer League moving forward it sounds like.

Oh, that's a little sad. My understanding is that the Pacers preferred the Orlando Summer League precisely because it was closed to the public and they could focus on basketball. The official Summer League in Vegas on the other hand is run more like, well, a marketing event. The unglamorous cousin of All Star weekend, if you will.

NBA officials prefer to have all 30 teams participate in the Las Vegas event.

Yeah well, thanks a lot. On the other hand, summer league rarely if ever matters, so whatever.

Pretty sure it being cheaper was the only reason they made that decision.
