Obviously, it sucks for the two big players to go down but great for development. RHJ is still ONLY 23 YEARS OLD, haha. I still think Allen needs more minutes -- him just standing there manning the 5 gives me more confidence. He should just shoot skyhooks, PNR hammer dunks, 10 footers, and putbacks all day.

On the other hand, Kilpatrick has a knife sticking out of his back. A bit of a shame what's happened to his career but there's no role for him now on this current Nets team.

Rondae is 22, actually.

Rondae is turning into a really good player... looks more and more like prime gerald wallace every game (only not as athletic as wallace).

Sick defense 1 through 5, and 2 way play.

He is currently, beyond a shadow of a doubt or best player

Very good points. Allen DEFINITELY needs more minutes. You could tell that Golden States players were reluctant to challenge him at the rim. I imagine that he gets more minutes and eventually starts for us this season if we dont trade for a veteran C, similar to how LeVert went from barely playing to starting for us last year.

It is very unfortunate for Kilpatrick. We should try to move him to New Orleans, Washington or another team that needs shooting and scoring off the bench. He's a great guy and an amazing teammate. I only wish him the best.

Players have roles. Rondae had a tough beginning to the game and I think a lot of it was physical. He toughed that game out, but he's physically compromised. RHJ still has a bit of reversion to out of control drives on occasion, but it's nothing major. For the most part, he's cut it out of the game. But Rondae has that role, he doesn't engineer comebacks, but he's a huge and really essential part of them. I think it's hard for the Nets to win if RHJ doesn't play.

I think you're defining best as 2-way players. And talking of only active players. D-Russ is quite the scorer, no one else comes close to his scoring prowess. His length helps at times with D as well. And he's clutch. Lin has a bunch of intangibles that help win games and involve his teammates, but he's not active. Rondae gets to spots, has great energy, has now a reliable fade-away jumper and gets to the line and makes most of his shots, while guarding all positions reasonably effectively. That's something no one else can do on the team.

Dinwiddie is without at doubt now the best player on the bench. He's good enough to start. He went up against the best and after a tough first half, where he sat a lot of it due to foul troubles, he led the team to a nice comeback and stayed out of foul trouble. He's also the most secure with the ball and plays solid D.

Rondae didn’t start well but he flat out outplayed and owned draymond. 5 pts, 7 rebs, 1-8 FG, -4 while RHJ finished with 16/12/5,+10.

I thought he couldn’t play PF, though.

yeah, he's too small we should move him back to SF. Hahaha i love how the goalposts have shifted from "RHJ isn't an NBA player" to "RHJ is a bench player" to "RHJ is too small to play PF" to "RHJ should move back to SF" within a matter of 2 and a half seasons. When this guy starts consistently dropping 18ppg or better and starts hitting his three pointers with some consistency, his detractors' heads will all collectively explode because they will have run out of things to hate on him about. This guy is trending upwards big time.

Don't worry though, his doubters will stay quiet and wait until he has a bad game and then will resume this annoying and debunked talking point. File this game away to quickly refute them when needed.

They're supposed to be  especially regarding this kid who got dumped on and written off by a few people from day 1, it makes me happy every time he takes another step up. I guess I'm also pulling for him to prove people wrong because he was drafted at a time where we had guys that didn't give a damn about this team or the fans and along comes this dude who played harder than guys making 100x what he was as a rookie. he kind of ushered in this new "grit" thing that's going on with us.

I've been wrong before plenty of times, so don't ever hesitate to hit me with one either

I don’t know about you MDB, but for me it isnt about ‘I told you so’. I don’t care if I was right. Its about reminding all those people who wanted him cut after 40 games, who said he couldn’t play in this league, who said he should never start even when he was a 2nd year who’s numbers were climbing, who said we should bring in this guy or that guy even when a dude with less than 2 seasons under his belt was competing against the leagues best, that they were wrong and that maybe next time they’ll learn from how wrong they were and cut our next RHJ some slack.

I think some people’s mindset has already changed cuz CLV is being treated well by this forum, even though he has struggled big time this year. Maybe people have started to see what Kenny and Marks are actually about.

Yep. I think its a general case of "trusting the process" now. LeVert will be a better player for being allowed to fail, be corrected, and push through his struggles just like Rondae last season.

And how about Dinwiddie? Dinwiddie had some rough nights last year where he was playing like he was intimidated and afraid to make mistakes. Now look at him.

Kenny is legit.
