This could be an advantage for him. He was already a top 3 prospect coming into the season. Him not playing just leaves more what ifs for GMs. They will be drafting him on what they think than what they saw against top competition. No tape on him to scrutinize and he can wow them in workouts.

I'm very interested in Kostas aka Greek Freek 2.0

This guys defensive instincts and body control reminds me of Giannis. I think we have something here. I will be paying close attention to Dayton where hes playing righy now. This kid could be a defensive stud and a 3 and D guy who can play 4 as well. 6'10 7'2 Wingspan. Athletic too!

If we have the 8th pick or worst, and he's available. I think Brett and our scouts will have a hard time saying no. Especially if he's already cleared medically..

That's really surprising with Porter; he'll be back and able to present in pre-draft workouts if his rehab goes to schedule. I guess his ranking on draft boards will depend on those and how good the other prospects look. Its not as if relatively unknown/injury-hit players haven't been picked inside the top 5 before but its entirely possible he falls outside there now.

Someone posted in the Porter thread on the draft forum that there's a one in five chance he never plays again. Do you take those odds with a top 5 pick? Top 10? A lot depends on the other prospects and how good they are.

This injury won't hurt Porter. If anything it could help him. We've seen this in slightly different forms each year. Once you are declared the #1 prospect, the less people get to see you the better it is for the prospect.

That’s a shame. Missouri was going to bolster what appears to be an SEC that’s the strongest I’ve seen in some time.

lol yeah I'm sure having a spinal cord injury could "help" him. Definitely no concerns at all with those kinds of injuries. Brilliant!

Billy King...Bryan Colangelo gave away the pick if it was in the top 5 and now the basketball gods have seen fit to let porter fall into the 76ers range. I think BC will see this as his Embiid pick and be all over it.

Well he's likely not going ahead of at least Doncic and Ayton now if things stay the same. Bagley looks very raw but he looks very productive so probably not him either. There's every chance he falls past the first few picks at least so it wouldn't surprise if he falls into the 6 - 10 range given you have Bamba and a few others who will be in that mix.

Penn St has a very intriguing and young team this year. They are struggling with TAMU’s length right now, but they will make noise in the big 10.

Any potential draftees from that game or too early to tell? I haven't been able to watch much college bball this year and that looks unlikely to change for me for at least 6 weeks.

Probably not, but you never know, and that’s where the Lakers pick could land.

Exactly, I have to wonder if anyone who is considering him knows what this really means, I injured my back while playing basketball.

They are going to surgery with him, surgery was next on my list but injections worked for me cause they said I was young and still had alot of tissue back there. Apparently he doesn't. Back surgery on a 19 year old is alot more serious than being considered here and he will have to show he has recovered from this injury.

Back injures can linger for the rest of your life, and it won't be taken lightly by any NBA team.
