Millsap injury
Heard Millsap has a torn ligament and will be out 3 months. Did Faried do this (JK), but seems we get to see Lyles and out last year's team, see if we can step up. I'm hoping they keep Faried's energy off the bench and start Lyles but how unrealistic does that sound ??

Re: Millsap injury
I’m not sure what to make of this yet. IDK who starts for 3 months, IDK how much Milsap will be missed, IDK that it was smart to put some many offseason improvement eggs into one basket...gives Lyles a chance to show his worth.

Re: Millsap injury
Lyles played pretty well the last two games so seems like obvious choice to me. Plus it'd be a good opportunity to evaluate what trade value we're receiving.

Re: Millsap injury
I think Jokic/faried & plumlee/lyles or Juancho are the 2 pairings that should be used. But unfortunately I see an increase in the Jokic/Plumlee pairing.
They should be able to get back to the purely Jokic centric offense of post 12/15 last year, but were gonna have another re-adjustment period in 3 months. Hopefully we’re solid in the playoff race by then.

Re: Millsap injury
PFs left with Millsap out: Faried, Chandler, Hernangomez, Arthur, Lyles, Lydon, Plumlee - 7 choices that have all played PF last year or this year.
We know Malone has limited Faried to less than 20 mpg, but he seems the most logical starter, at least in my mind.
Malone has proven he likes Plumlee at PF. Last year he played Hernangomez more often as a PF than SF.
Malone has not shown any interest in playing Arthur, which is a shame. He's a decent role player.
Lyles has been showing some skill and we don't know much about Lydon.
My expectations at PF while Millsap is out (not my preference):
Faried 24 mpg - Plumlee 12 mpg - Chandler 12 mpg
with Hernangomez & Lyles playing some stretch-4/SF time with Barton getting more SF time also.
On the other hand, Malone just might move Chandler to the starting PF with Faried & Plumlee splitting about 18 mpg
leaving Barton starting at SF with Hernangomez & Lyles sharing backup SF
(and many fans wondering why Jefferson isn't playing at all).
The one thing I know for certain, is I have yet to understand any of Malone's rotations. It reminds me of playing Yahtzee; you never know how those dice will roll.

With Millsap out, Lyles, Faried should step up.

Maybe we could call Craig for few games if Chandler has to play PF?

Tough thing, but looks like you guys are stacked at PF position. Important thing now is for Paul to come back as quick as possible 100%.

Re: Millsap injury
Rumors are out there that Chandler may move over to PF with Juancho starting at SF, seems like a bit of a mistake to me given out depth at PF. If we're ever expecting to move to more of a stretch offense, Lyles seems like the perfect option, especially with what he has shown over the last two games.

Yup, the rumor is out there. Do I believe it? Maybe, I do believe Malone might do it, not sure if he will. Do I believe it's a mistake? Well, I think anybody with common sense would think it's a mistake, but Malone's rotations have never made sense and he has to deal with what the front office gave him. Last year he wanted a stretch offense and we drafted a couple of shooters and dumped a starting quality big man. This year we went for Lyles & Lydon who can supposedly shoot but Malone doesn't seem to want to play them, especially Lydon. Chandler can hit a 3, but he's not in the "good shooter" category. He's in the "average shooter" category IMO.
All I know is Malone will do what Malone will do and if I can predict that, I'll be one PowerBall ticket and purchase a bigger yacht than Josh has - BEFORE they have the drawing for PowerBall.

Re: Millsap injury
Considering we are paying Faried 13M this year and 14M next year, hopefully this is a blessing in disguise to drastically increase his trade value and then trade him at the deadline for a wing.
Next year Denver will have
Millsap $30M
Faried $14M
Plumlee $14M
Jokic (New Max Contract ~25M)
That would be $83M spent on bigs next year which isn't sustainable. I fully expected Denver to trade Faried this year. Hopefully the Millsap injury is a chance to drastically improve his trade value and get something valued in return.

and many of us fully expected them to trade Gallinari last year and/or Faried and/or Arthur and/or Nelson and/or Barton and/or and/or and/or - Good luck predicting the Nuggets' front office.

unfortunately im not sure this is a playoff team anymore. Jokic is a God, but the Nugs are basically playing 2.5 on 5 out there right now...

I really hope the team can overcome this disaster injury, at least stay above 0.500 until Millsap returns.

Same troll style you always use....give your cut-down, add a minor compliment to defer the complete contempt you attempt to induce then re-emphasize the doom-n-gloom you originally want to state. Go back and criticize your Hornets who can't even make the playoffs in the weak East. Such a pathetic post as usual. Tired of seeing your crap post, Welcome to my Foes list !!!1
Happy Thanksgiving all !!

Re: Millsap injury
Jokic-Millsap
Chandler-Faried-Lyles-Hernangomez
Chandler-Barton-Jefferson
Harris-Barton-Beasley
Murray-Mudiay
Chandler & Barton can slide back and forth easier than most (plus Murray & Mudiay at either guard).
Jokic-Chandler-Barton-Harris-Murray should all be able to average 15 ppg. That's 90 pts total. The bench should be able to get 20+ ppg and 110 pts average should be adequate. It just seems to make sense. Now, can they do it? With Millsap out, it seems Malone ought to go back to last year's offense with Jokic in the key and players cutting from 3pt range.
Then again, no one knows what Malone will do.

I think we are at our best with Barton off the bench and starting Chandler 3. Then bring Barton in at the 3 and move Chandler to the 4 for a stretch lineup.

I agree somewhat. But I think Rebel would point out that Jokic with Faried is good and that doesn't contradict what you are saying. Let Chandler play 30 mpg and half at each forward slot with Barton playing mostly SF. Does this work for you?
Jokic 30 - Plumlee 18
Faried 25 - Chandler 15 - Lyles 8
Chandler 10 mpg - Barton 25 mpg - Hernangomez 8
Harris 30 mpg - Beasley 18 mpg
Murray 30 mpg - Mudiay 18 mpg
It gives Lyles & Hernangomez a few minutes (I'd like to see more) but it also gives us the best chance of winning IMO. Of course if Hernangomez or Lyles or anyone else gets HOT, then let them play more. Because that's what you're supposed to do with shooters.

I was surprised at no Faried against the Rockets. I like Faried starting, but still getting limited minutes. I like having his energy in the lineup, especially to start the game and maybe to start the 3rd. Barton will probably split his time between the 2 & 3. I'd rather see more Juancho than Beasley.
Jokic / Faried / Chandler / Harris / Murray to start. Transition to Jokic/ Chandler / Barton / Harris / Mudiay, then full 2nd unit with Plumlee/ Lyles / Hernangomez / Barton / Mudiay.
Jokic 33 - Plumlee 15
Faried 18 - Chandler 15 - Lyles 15
Chandler 18 mpg - Barton 15 mpg - Hernangomez 15
Harris 33 mpg - Barton 15 mpg
Murray 28 mpg - Mudiay 20 mpg
