Thinking Porter is better than Wall or Beal is totally asinine, and you have to ignore literally all context to arrive at that conclusion. It's simply not even a legitimate argument and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Agree. I don't argue that, but I think he could potentially one day be widely seen as the best of the three.

I too consider Beal and Wall the two best players on the Zards. In fact, this season, I think Beal has surpassed Wall, and he's even emerging as more of an oncourt and vocal leader than Wall.
Otto is a great shooter, but he has yet to show the ability (or versatility) to score or take over games offensively without being set up by a teammate or having a play run for him.
This paragraph from today's Washington Post column about Otto speaks directly to that:
Although he depends on the brilliance of John Wall and Bradley Beal more than they depend on his diligent fundamentals-first game, Porter may now approach, or even equal, them in total value to the Wizards.

Yeah, agreed.
The thing about Porter is that while he can be put in a position to be more efficient than Wall or Beal, his efficiency is ultimately tied to the play of Wall/Beal, which limits his value. If you're starting a franchise, you pick Wall or Beal before Porter because they're able to succeed within a wider range of circumstances and are less dependent on their teammates than Porter.
Similarly, if you're starting a franchise you take LeBron over Curry even though 2015/16 Curry was one of the best seasons anyone has ever had.

I've said before give me 45/40 on high usage over 55/47 on low usage any day.

I wouldn't put too much stock in Thomas Boswell's opinion of Otto Porter. This is the first time in a long while that he's deigned to way in on them. He assembled a bunch of stats and cobbled together a column. There was no real context to any of the numbers. I sincerely doubt he regularly watches this team.

Re: The Ascension of Bradley Beal
I still think Wall is our best player. He had a horrendous first 8 games of the season, but has looked alot better since he sat out the first game vs Toronto.
Heres his traditional stats since then(7 games):

And his advanced stats over the same time:

I think things like his low TO rate and his lowered usage can partly be attributed to Beal becoming the alpha dog on offense more often, allowing Wall to play within himself rather than forcing things to happen.

He's probably still not right.
The better Beal gets, the more I would expect from Wall both efficiency and defensively. Really Beal should be getting game winning shot and clutch offense duties at this point given his development.

My one gripe with Beal last season was his anemic rebounding. So far it seems like he is making a better effort on the boards.
It really does seem like he is making the effort to improve in every area.

The best thing that could happen is for Wall to realize that both he and the team are a LOT better when he's a facilitator and Beal and Otto are the primary shotmakers.
