So while the Nets’ 6-11 record is in the lower echelon of the standings, it’s clear they are making progress.

“You can look at it as a positive that we’re moving in the right direction, trying to put together complete games,” said former Cav Joe Harris, who had 18 points against his former team.

Referring to losses to the Warriors and Cavs, Harris added, “Those are the two top teams in the NBA and have been for the last few years, so for us to compete and play each team close, that’s encouraging for us. I think it should give us an optimistic outlook going forward.”

DeMarre Carroll suggested the Nets need to bottle the formula they used to cut a 28-point Warriors lead to four and then lead the Cavs by seven points in the fourth quarter.

“This is the type of team we want to be — share the ball, be aggressive,” Carroll said after the loss in Cleveland. “We’ve got Portland, a tough ballclub, coming in Friday. This was a tough loss, but I think we can learn from it.”

Hoping Crabbe can build on his recent good and balanced play. Really love his game when he's mixing it up.

Nets should be proud. Down Russell is a lot of points and playmaking contribution. The captain is down for the year. Key guys are young and are playing through their mistakes, like CLV. The team is playing musical centers. One of the grittiest players and big offensive rebounder and decent post player in Booker is missing the past 2 games.

Yeah, others have injuries, Hayward on the Celts, Rose and IT on the Cavs and such, but they have more experience on those teams and more talent. And the Nets have been competitive. Looking like they were going to get blown out by the best team in the NBA and coming back shows teams have to earn their Ws. They aren't automatic as it was with most of last year's team.

Hope Booker plays today and hope the team is ready. Early starts usually equal not so good NBA basketball. We'll see.
