Yes, but there is no reason to let him go just because he will start costing more money. If he is still a good value then he is a good value.

I’m not going to over pay for TJ, but I’m willing to pay market value for him on a 4 year deal.

Define “market value”. I wouldn’t pay TJ a Dellavedova contract, that’s insanity.

I don’t know what market value is. I’m just guessing that 4 years 20 million would be about right.

That’s too much for someone who is gonna play 15-18 mins a night when we have Simmons and Fultz taking up major mins.

Well I wouldn’t do it at all if it was hurting our cap space, but if we were done needing the space, then I wouldn’t mind paying him the money.

I think that 15-18 minutes a night is just about right for him. Whatever that role pays in the league, I would be happy to pay him is really my point.

I get it but he is beginning to sour on me. The TJ of last year was good, the one this year is awful to me. He is trying too hard to be someone he is not.

Totally disagree. I think he only tries to be what he is.

The only thing that annoys me about him is how he penetrates right down to the basket and then passes up layups. He holds on to the ball too long a lot of the time. That stuff that he does where he dribbles through the lane and around in a circle is annoying.

His hustle and defense though is infectious. He is almost like the team’s mascot. He is a major pain in the ass to anyone he is playing against, and if he continues to show improvement in his 3 point shot then he becomes more valuable.

After thinking about it, the best comp for paying top end backup PG’s is probably Ish Smith. DET gave him 3 years 18M. Even as a capped out team, I wouldn’t give TJ that type of deal. But another team probably will.

All things considered TJ is a better player than Ish Smith. If we got TJ for that deal it would be a bargain.

Awful? Dude, you have an irrational hate for TJ. He was fantastic filling in for Ben tonight as I expected. Maybe it's time to give up the fight and accept he's an important part of the process. Also, he's not trying to be anyone other than TJ f*cking McConnell.

He does not play like this often. This is him being himself, he usually drives the lane jumps and turns the ball over or dibble all over the floor then hands it off to someone lol

I don’t hate him, I hate when he does all that crap
