Donovan still sucks as a coach. I do think the players are tired, but Donovan is trash.

He is not a reason the team wins and he contributes to the losses way more than he should. People say that firing him will send the wrong message. What does keeping him say? " We don't care about winning and losing as long as the coach can say some vague compliment about the team's effort after the game, thats all that matters..."

God I want him to get McHale'd so BAD :banghead:

I was more excited about T-Ferg being on the floor this game than Paul George.

Every single time Paul George came in the game: Time to watch throw up some bricks. Trade him for Otto porter Presti.

If they fire Donovan mid-season, get ready for interim coach Cheeks.

Can coaches be traded for? Can we trade Donovan for like Doc Rivers?
Yes.... I said Doc Rivers

Probably wont have to worry about Doc’s availability, I think he will be the first coaching casualty of the season.

I could also see them giving Darko or maybe even Royal a shot at it for half a season.

Honestly, the only guy out there right now that would have no problem standing up to Russ and Melo and would absolutely bring out the crazy in this team, is George Karl. Not sure how successful that would be but it would sure be entertaining.

They have zero bench help.

I’m out on Lou Williams. The last thing this team needs is another chucker.

I’m not a fan but I saw his name mentioned in the trade thread so I threw it in

If I had my choice it would be Favors and Beverly. Just make the defense as insane as possible.

I think Beverly is out for the season.

What could they do drastic (with what they have)? replace Roberson or Adams in starting lineup. Cut one or more bench guy totally out of the rotation. Commit to using a young guy more.

Oh god. George Karl and Melo
Melo would opt out of his contract just to get away from Karl.

1. They're currently out of the playoffs. Which is fine because they're a first round out.
2. I can't imagine a scenario they fired Donovan.
3. Tying it all together, I was at a football game today. Through 3 quarters OKC scored 55 points. Penn State had 52. lol

I don't care if Melo and PG iso, that collection of talent should not be a sub .500 team under any circumstance.

my thoughts exactly he also does not seem to be hard enough on them

I'd go for Melo off bench (and was from before season started) but that idea seemed off the table with Melo and probably with star catering coach and exec. But maybe sliding 3-5 more games under .500 would get drastic changes actually considered. Right now they are still in denial.

But what’s the worst that could happen? Melo needs to show something this season if he wants one more decent contract.

I doubt Melo opts out. Or if he does, I doubt he gets much. Rudy Gay type deal. Hard to believe anyone goes higher unless they are awful.

I could see Melo buyout in sumner or maybe another longshot trade for distressed assets.

OK3 is such an apt nickname.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Oh, there is no way in hell he opts out. But he will want one more contract after next year and he has to start showing what he can bring to a contender on the back end of his career when he will no longer be the number one or two or three option.

I’m kind of over trying to figure out this team. I’m more interested in keeping our pick at this point.

Alabama/Minnesota basketball just finished 3 on 5 on court due to ejections. Find highlights.

Did the team with five finish the game on a 50-0 run?

They oddly mostly hung on to win, won by like 5-10 (I think 89-83 but not sure)

If Melo opts in, his next contract is likely smaller in years and salary level. He is old. Overall though that is probably the path to more total money. Happiness or results? I dunno if that happens anywhere.

That is nuts. Bama was actually only down 3 with one minute to go and possession. Wow.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
