I see Otto had 24, how and when did he do his scoring.

Just finished watching.
Brooks is really, really bad.
So many obvious mistakes. The lineups with Beal at point squandered leads in both halfs. Took Otto out too long.
Morris instead of Oubre down the stretch.
Just giving the ball to Beal and not exploiting the Otto mismatch in the last few minutes.
All obvious things.
Cot damm.

Watched the game on tape delay...didn’t read the board until now because I didn’t want spoilers. Should have just read Wall was out, that the Wiz were close in the end and we would force feed Beal until he threw up all over himself and we lost. Interesting (or stupid) that the offense devolves into ‘planned’ ISO’s for our ‘star’ player down the stretch. Beal isn’t Kyrie- AKA give him the ball at the end of the game and clear out. Beal should or could be coming around picks while Otto is doing the same thing to get open and the person initiating the offense gets the ball to the man with the best shot. Not on the last play but in the flow of the whole damn game.
I love the Wiz but Beal and Otto are both a notch- OR a few notches below the top level players...at least right now and especially when the coach uses them like this.
Is Ottos ceiling an Aziza like player? Is Beals ceiling a notch right below a Derozen? At some point we need to see what Otto can do if we give him the ball more because its becoming clear Beal shouldn’t be the only guy you run plays for. I was hoping with Wall out Otto was going to be given a chance to really get the spotlight...but it didn’t appear that way to me.
I’m becoming a disgruntle wiz fan.

Otto is better than Ariza. And I think even Trevor would anknowledge it cause 3 years ago he was singing Otto’s praises.
Oh and Otto had the spotlight when he played with Sato, Meeks, Oubre and dummy Mahinmi
They expanded the lead with Otto exploiting mismatches, being set up by Sato on an And1, winning the jump ball to end the 3rd, making shots at the 4.
It’s really mind boggling how you have a weapon like that and refuse to use him in the clutch.

This x 1,000.
Otto was just killing them. The Blazers had no one who could guard him, he was hunting his shot, he was grabbing boards, keeping plays alive, and then?
Brooks takes him out.
Once he gets in, he never gets his number called.
Blech, barf, boo Brooks.

Is Otto better right now than Ariza at his best? I think last year in the playoffs Otto avg something like 29% from 3...which was way off of what he is capable of clearly. This year it just feels like Beal and Wall get treated like KD and Westbrook while Otto is being under utilized by this coach like...uh Harden

So while i am in agreement- I have seen Ariza Have GREAT games and he is a defensive stopper and just played his role on every team he played on. Never asked for the ball- just was a great teammate- Sometimes i wonder if Dion Waiters has the right idea or even dare i say it- Lance S- SOMETIMES you got to call your own number for the betterment of the team. It seems like Otto is getting overlooked as someone you have to ride to win....he is being treated like a “glue guy” - kinda like you look at Ariza or Shumpert... not even how you look at Brown for Boston. Sometimes they actually get the ball to him when they need a bucket. Think about that...

I'll grant you that. He was good tonight. Can't understand why Brooks went without a PG in two crucial stretches.

Yeah nah Wall's not the problem. This coach has no idea what he's doing.
Morris and Gortat need a flogging.
Smith played good again. How long was he on the court for, 4 mins? He should be our primary backup C. F Mahinmi.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

The biggest improvements I saw from Otto: shaking his head when they put Connaughton on him and talking trash after he hit that 3 in the fourth. More court presence is good.
This was Otto's game to close. Brooks should've demanded the ball go to him at the end. Otto might never be the "Give me the ****ing ball!" type though....

EG's contract expired this past Summer, you can be certain that he working under a new extension.

The Wizards have now 7 losses in games they have led by 10 or more points.
+10 3 losses
+15 3 losses
+20 1 loss
Only the Thunder are bigger chokers and they don't have nearly the amount of depth that Washington has.

I don't really think much of giving up leads these days. All it takes is a few good possessions on both sides to cut a deficit in half.
My concern has mostly been with coaching. Leaving Otto out for huge chunks of time, no out of time out sets, defaulting to certain lineups despite certain guys playing poorly, etc.
