If Griffin has a serious injury and they trade Jordan would the Clippers take 4 firsts and 3 players for Griffin.

Anyone else been wondering why Tyler Ulis regressed so much?
He was excellent at the end of last season, and this season he’s been much different.
Was last season just a fluke or did that ankle surgery he had in the summer change his entire game?
He was never a good shooter but even his passing and assists have went down considerably.

Nope on Blake Griffin now. Should have at least talked with us over the summer. Now I hope he stays forever injured and does more crappy but entertaining stand up comedy.

Sauce is injured. Tyler and Sauce has come good chemistry.

A mock from 11/26/17 had Phoenix's 2018 draft as such:
#8 - Collin Sexton
#11 - Wendal Carter
#14 - Dzanan Musa
https://thesixersense.com/2017/11/26/2018-nba-draft-mock-draft-1-0/8/
I'd be ok with the 1st 2 picks. In fact, we'd have officially stock piled enough assets to begin trading qty, for all-star type quality, and still have assets to spare. Of course this is simply a mock draft from a less than renown source.
However, it led to discussing a possibility, albeit a very remote one, that was fun to ponder if even for just a couple minutes.
Some pundit dived into the possibility of the "one and done" rule being eliminated prior to the 2018 draft. If so, this would obviously make for a very intriguing and incredibly deep 2018 NBA draft. To illustrate this, he compiled a blended 2018 mock draft that included the newly eligible draftees (RJ Barrett, Williamson, Reid, Reddish, Bol bol, Garland, Langford, etc) from their original 2019 draft and added them to an already strong 2018 draft.
I don't remember the exact mock draft...again, it's just a mock, but there was damn good talent even in the 20's.
I do remember the Suns Mock picks in this scenario though (our spots managed to miss all the 2019 draftees):
#8 - Mohamed Bamba
#11 - Robert Williams
#14 - Collin Sexton
Intriguing! Now let's remove "one and done" AND bump each pick up one or two spots

Under no conditions do you trade an unprotected lottery pick when you are looking to be in the lottery. to top that off you are picking up players that dont feel the timeline that the Suns are working to in Conley and Gasol. So no thanks.
I don't think it would still be a lottery pick after the trade (barring injuries).
Obviously this is not an ideal scenario, and yes there are injury concerns but I think it'd be solid. To a certain degree I think it would even help the timeline because a) I totally disagree that the entire roster has to be a certain age, on the contrary (how do you pay them if all their extensions kick in around the same time?) and b) it would open up so much room for the young guys we'd still have on the roster and imho they'd develop much better having vets taking off the pressure.
I think picks are overvalued. It's such a crapshoot nowadays with all the one and doners. Bird in the hand principle.
I've come around to perceivably overpaying with picks for a star. I was 100% against going for Kyrie, now I regret it. Look at Tatum. He wouldn't look this good on our roster. While I don't like Kyrie's play, the rooks would benefit massively from all the attention he demands from the opponent's defense.
We need someone to free up space for the young guys and another young guy is not gonna be that player. Losing faith in our #timeline.

No. It's the lack of Alan Williams in the line-up with Tyler who he had great chemistry with. He also relied on those wide body screens to get open looks. Our current big men are awful at screens. Particularly Len but Tyson is pretty damn lazy about it too.

We are really going to have a numbers crunch if we don't move Monroe and someone else soon.
Also, we need to get Jahlil if he is bought out. I just have a good feeling about his fit here even with his horrid advanced numbers and our plethora of bigs. Does anybody who knows the CBA a bit better than me know if the max offer rule applies if he is bought out and signs with us? What I mean is are we capped with our re-signing amount the way we would be with a trade.
I wouldn't worry too much about Reed's impact on the roster this year. It was a 4-6 month time table in late August so we may not see him until February. Even then he won't be ready for real minutes for a while.
It was reported Okafor would be going to Boston if he is bought out. I'm not sure how legitimate that is but I could see it. The only C on their roster is Baynes leaving Horford to play a lot of minutes there.

IDK, its kind of ridiculous that the only way Ulis is effective is if he is playing with a 3rd string back-up C in Williams. And if indeed that is the case, thats really really sorry and speaks volumes to what kind of career (Or lack of) he will have in the league.

I doubt we would even consider Conley since he is 30 years old and gets 30mil next season, 32.5mil the next, and 34.5mil in 202/21. I'd easily pass and wouldn't even want him for that kind of money.
Yep. If we are going to target a PG from a failing team, I like your idea of Schroder, and I think we are of the same thought on Kemba Walker. Problem with Walker is, trying to pry him away without taking on one of Howard or Batum or Marvin Williams. Because if they decide to 'blow it up', they aren't keeping those guys and 'giving' away Kemba; they are going to want to pkg one of them with him, and I want nothing to do with 3+ years of Batum at $23M. I'd rather take Howard on for a year and a half at $24M.

We have to be the only team to go from having 3 starting PGs to having none. Until that problem is solved, we will be trash. I dont see a way out... except a rebirth of BKnight.

Its a ruse...blah, blah, blah... McD blows...blah, blah, blah...
McD stinks...blah, blah, blah...
That is all for now....
Did I do it right, Frank? Boy, talk about beating a dead horse, you are as bad as I am about Len, Warren, and dare I say... "Dragic"...and then I'm blasted for my long diatribes...
...face it, Frank, we are two peas in a pod...we just disagree on some points is all...

Anyway, couldn't resist Frank...but I did +1 you on this, because I agree. I am tired of the #Timeline talk, but now we have nothing, so we have no choice but to yet, again, tank for a year, hope we get Bamba or Ayton, or Bagley and he's good with playing the 5, or whatever...but point is, without a true PG, we can't possibly hope to compete, and there are only like 2 PGs this draft that seem like they might develop into solid starters...the others are highly suspect.
So, I agree, to a point, about what you said about Bender, Chriss, and Jackson, but odds are, at least one will 'grow' into a solid starter and actually, I think they all have their niche, but without a PG, and a non-interim HC, how can we judge their development?
But McD discussed using ALL these pieces as trade chips for a disgruntled 'star', and yet, here we are, with no disgruntled 'star', and why I was so big on Kyrie.
The way I see it, we have Chriss OR Bender, JJ, our 2018 pick OR Mia 2018 pick, Mil 2020 (?) and Mia 2021 Unprotected 1st Rd picks.
I know we all love JJ, but in all honesty, we have Warren and Booker and Chriss OR Bender. Can't we use the others for that disgruntled PG star...be it this year or over the Summer?
That's 5 pieces...a 20 YO, a 21 YO, a potential lottery pick now, in 2020, and 2021. And that's not counting an expiring Monroe, Daniels, Ulis, and Dudley, if a team so desires. McD has TONS of 'trade chips' to use; he has no excuses left. By next season, we BETTER have a GOOD starting PG + Booker + Warren + Bender or Chriss + Ayton/Bamba/Williams/McCoy/Carter. Preferably, we still have JJ as well, but those draft picks need to be gone, gone, gone. And if it takes trading ours, and it's, say, the 5th overall, and we use Miami's, at say 13th, then so be it. GET A PG...at any cost.
No more rebuilding...no more excuses...
Next season, we better be competing; if we aren't, then McD needs to go, IMO. He's collected far too many pieces and is sitting on them too long waiting on the perfect trade; that's never going to happen.

Oh yea it makes a lot of sense to trade the future including a unprotected lottery pick for two players on a team that cant stay healthy and lock your team into salary for those players to the point that you dont have the money to resign Booker to the max deal he is going to want next year. oh wait as thing stand right now with Knight and Chandler and Monroe coming off the book in the next couple year it makes it very easy for Suns to sign him and even a couple of our other player to post rookie deals.
lets look at the best case if the Suns do the trade you are talking about. The Suns for the next two years finish 7th or 8th in the western con and lose in the first round. The draft picks that we get are in the 18th or 19th range. In two we see Gasul and Conley with even worst health issues and we are back in the lottery and maybe have Booker demanding a trade because we cant pay him the contract that he wants because we still have another year with Conley. NO THANKS
Just say no to idiots!!

I think the lack of Sauce probably has had some negative affect on his game but it's really more to do with teams have a little more of a scouting report on Ulis and are forcing him to shoot. With Tyler it's pretty simple he needs to be able to shoot at least an average percentage on jumpers or he's not going to make it in this league. If teams are allowed to sag off him and dare him to shoot it limits what he can do from a passing standpoint because the lanes and driving opportunities aren't there. I also think for him to be most effective they need to do a better job in transition because that's an area where his size isn't that big of a deal and he can use his speed.
With his size he shouldn't ever be the starter because against bigger and good PG's they will hunt him on D but if he makes shot's he has a chance to be a decent backup if not well then I doubt he's in the league in 2 years. It's part of the reason I wasn't high on him coming out of the draft because his ceiling was limited; but if he becomes a decent back up PG it will be a decent pick.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

A 12 point performance really proves your point. You realize Bender was not part of that trade, right? Good work, dude.
