i have no issue with Randle as long as he's properly vetted. what does he have to do with maintaining veteran presence in the locker room going forward?

I'm not saying you can't.

Ok.

*ring ring*
Marks: hello?
NBA playoff contender: We'd like to about what the price is for Trevor Booker
Marks: A first round pick and a young guard
NBAPC: ok, how about a 2018 1st rd

You'd say no?

bws94 wrote:It's also a team game and finding the right mix. Randle is yet another young player on a team that needs to have vets in it for the reasons MDB mentioned.

bro I like Trevor Booker. I'd trade him in a heartbeat for a 1st round pick. So would Marks.

I answered this before lol

if the deal is right sure. otherwise i prefer to keep veteran talent on the team. this is a young team, it is counter productive to dump veteran guys who have their heads on straight and are professionals. Guys like Booker and Carroll's impact isn't just on the floor, but in the locker room and personally with these guys.

we don't ever want to have this become a situation where we've got a locker room full of young guys with zero peer guidance. coaches can only do so much.

I'm not saying Booker is untouchable, my point was about maintaining good veteran presence in the locker room as the young guys mature. That's why I was kind of confused by your Julius Randle comment...I'm not sure what that had to do with the point of having veteran leadership

although yes, i'm all for adding more young talent.

we wont have the cap space to get randle. and trading for his rights so we can sign him and be well into the tax for a player who doesnt really fit isnt an idea i like either.

As far as booker, you dont trade him unless we get a legit asset. he is worth more as a leader/mentor then middling second rounders. he also expires and we need that cap space

maybe because he sat for 18 games and doesnt have a role... not to mention your judging him on a small sample size?

HELLACIOUS part of the schedule over.

Cavs, Celtics, Warriors, Rockets, Blazers... ouch... arguably the top 4 teams and a playoff team

If anybody ever gets healthy I can see 40+ wins. Carroll, Dinwiddie, and hopefully a healthy RHJ & Russell leading the way. I was really impressed with only a 14 point loss considering the circumstances. Kenny got the boys playing hard

- First quarter we were down 19-40. Harden couldn’t be stopped.

- Joe Harris and Whitehead helped chip away the lead. LeVert was awesome with his ball handling against their wings and helped get us in a flow but we couldn’t guard Capela rolling and Harden wasn’t phased by Jarrett Allen.

Kilpatrick was chucking too much. 3 air balls in the third quarter.

- second half, we came out storming with a burst led by Dinwiddie, Mozgov came out with some fire and got us stops. Rockets didn’t play as hard and we cut it to 67-71. Rockets stormed on a run and put it back up to 17 but LeVert, Whitehead kept us competitive.

- We ran some 3-2 zone and it got us much needed stops to get back into it.

Great job by Paradise. One note is Gasol was benched Q4. That was the straw that broke the camel's back it seems and Fizdale is toast.

40+ wins hinders development.... you can't develop players if you're winning.

40 wins is a lot to ask for, but if we can get some healthy bodies back we can grain ground and try to at least get within a game or 2 of .500 over the next few weeks.

The only note worthy thing from yesterday, outside of some funky Mozgod/Allen lineups - was our junk matchup 2-3 zone actually having some success. I'm not really a fan of it but different looks are interesting.

Yeah. Crabbe, Caroll, and RHJ have to get and stay healthy and then Russell but... other than on the road vs SA, Toronto (on back to back) & Boston, every December game looks very winnable. As a fan idk how you turn on any of those games and not legitimately expect a win.

I know development is the buzzword, but the roster is underrated. Just need AT LEAST 3 of the best players smh. Just Dinwiddie and Levert ain't gonna cut it. Definitely not on the road vs Houston.

Nope i'm with you. Nets need to get their players back and they need to start racking some wins this month. I think coming out of November at 7-13 is better than we could have expected looking at this schedule and having dealt with losing Russell for some time.
