I just shake my head. No sense in engaging then when its obvious they havnt seen games. This is why I only engage on the general board when I've watched a bunch if a teams games.

I think a whole lot of nba fans know about Andre and are now starting to see him being engaged in the game. Hushing the crowd when he scores e.t.c. Andre has MVP caliber skills, size, and quickness. He just never had the drive.

Him playing like this puts him into MVP talks.

One of the posts stated they would take a healthy Miami Heat team over the Pistons. I mean c'mon already.

The Pistons go as Andre goes. When he is engaged, they are Elite.

Best win in almost 10 years, hopefully this can continue because the Pistons are really the only team in town. The Tigers will be terrible for the foreseeable future. The Wings are whatever, and I dont really care about hockey anyway. And the Lions are always SOL.

The pistons simply outworked us. I don’t know if it’s because of scheduling and all that but the Celtics simply didn’t have energy on the defensive side. Lucky we had some flukey shooting to keep us in the game.
Bet with Stillwater Celtics will finish 6th or higher in ECF Standings Regular Season(17-18). [WON]

I bet they still think that the Pistons are playing same iso/picknroll/Andre-postups basketball all game long.

Spot on. This version of the offense is making Andre a beast. Very, very few big men can make the passes Andre is making and he's now a triple threat at the top of the key and with his size speed and skill set we are all starting to see his all-world talent.

If your lazy on the hand off Andre will fake it and because he can handle the ball kill you off the dribble.

If you sag off him it allows the one of the constantly cutting players to get a swift pass from Andre for an easy layup.

If you come in to tight on the handoff he rushes the rim for the lob.

ALL OF THIS IS POSSIBLE because Andre is hitting his free throws. No one can stop him so teams just foul the **** out of him.

Throw in that he is one of the top 3 offensive rebounders(highest rebound % of all time now) of all time and he becomes a quadruple threat.

Andre Drummond, when engaged is an absolute BEAST.

I love watching him shush the crowd. Acting cocky. This means hes finally starting to have genuine passion for the game and for winning. If he keeps it up there is no place this team can't go, he is that dominant.

One of the best things to happen to Andre, and the Pistons was an opposing player bashing his effort publickly.

That really seemed to affect him, and ever since then, he has brought his A game each night. The results have been fantastic.

Dre considers Boston his "hometown" team since he grew up in CT. He always brings it when playing them, especially when in Boston.

Something I feel is worth sharing —

Living in New England, I watched the game with the Celts commentary (i.e. Tommy Heinsohn, the most unabashedly and unapologetic homer announcer of all time). And Tommy couldn't help himself from (begrudgingly) praising the Pistons last night. He was effusive with praise for Drummond and his new FT motion. He drooled over Avery's defense on Kyrie (expectedly, 'cuz he's a former Celt!). Our assists on cuts got comments like, "Oh, that's just pretty!" and "Good pass!" And most importantly, he said that he hasn't seen a team use curl picks the way we use them (particularly Harris and Bradley) in a long time. He pointed out that, when our guys come off the DHO with Dre, if you give them a sliver of space, they turn downhill and go to the rim; with Dre rolling hard too, he called our execution of that play "un-defendable" because it creates an impossible 2-on-1 situation and leads to so many good shots.

As I said, Tommy Heinsohn is an unabashed and unapologetic Celtic homer, but he's also a HOFer who's probably forgotten more hoops than anyone on this board has ever known. As the final seconds ticked off the clock, he summed up the Pistons with five words — "This team is for real." I tend to trust his opinion.

Well, I'm not saying Embiid's badmouthing didn't motivate him, but it's not like the shape up and serious FT work didn't predate it. Andre is being more serious about his career, which is great news. To date the FT improvement borders on miraculous.

Also benefiting Dre right now is that Stan has no choice to leave him out there if he starts to get down on himself or isn't playing well because the only alternative is Eric Moreland. Eventually when Leuer gets back we can limit Dre's minutes by 4-5 mpg a game as he's playing a lot of minutes right now because Boban is useless and Moreland is not much better than Boban in usefulness.

Leuer's injury has meant Stan Van Gundy had no choice but to ride Drummond and Johnson for a lot of minutes.

Just so much wrong with that post. Dre is playing 33 mpg, so no, he's not going to drop 5 minutes. Moreland >>>>>> Leuer as a backup center. SJ is playing 30 mpg. That's barely starter minutes, not "getting ridden".

If we had lost I'd be real bummed out knowing they would likely do worse to us if they were rested. Also look how horrible we played the cavs with the same amount of rest.
It was still a great win and I'm loving this team!

If they had looked sluggish and the Pistons were running them into the ground you might have a point. But the Celtics played a game that they would have won on most nights; the Pistons simply played better. Kinda hard to consider a fatigue factor when the team shoots 51.9% from 2, 48.5% from 3, and scores 108 points.

Their turnovers do suggest mental fatigue. It was partly a scheduling loss for them, but still a good win for us. I don't think we win a series against them - but they don't have an answer for Beastmode Dre currently on their roster.

Um, nope. They had 17 turnovers and average 14.4. Even if the Pistons converted on every extra TO, that's another 5.2 points. Take those points away and the Celts still lose.

I'm not even going to get into what you're suggesting by mental fatigue. Playing more makes your brain tired? I always thought playing more made you sharper mentally while playing less made you rusty. Because when a team is talked about as coming out rusty after a long layoff, the meaning certainly isn't physically tired.

Nice to see him credit our offense as opposed to just saying their D was crap.

Great coach, quality guy
