Luke gets that Lonzo is at his best when it's fast break time. That's why he harps on defense. If we get stops, we need no offensive half court system, only young running wings. It's our best shot to win.

Now, if we could only play some actual defense, too, not just talk about it.

The reason why he complains about some stuff that Kuzma doesn't do on defense is because he doesn't do that stuff on defense. Both sides of the ball matter. One feeds the other.

And, potentially because it might explain to the fans why Nance will be the starting PF and it'd soften Luke's blow by the fans and media if everyone knows of Kuzna's deficiencies and how great Nance is but I think that would be a bit shotty.

We aren't out running Lopez, so much as he's just missing shots and then not doing much. Was last year Fluky? He is still getting those looks nice and wide open many times.

I honestly think Luke is trying to make a statement to the team that you don't need to worry about your spot just because you got injured. I expect Kuz to start again after a stint of clearly outplaying Larry. I really think Luke is just trying to make a point that he isn't basing his lineup on injuries, and he's trying to give Larry a chance, though realistically it's more a gesture than anything else.

Don't like it either.. what more could kuz realistically do in his first 15 games as a rookie?!? He earned that starting spot and took advantage of his opportunity. Let the kid start! He's our pf of the future anyways. Just prolonging the inevitable.. same argument/justification why Zo is starting and will continue to start

Zo is starting because we have nobody else. Had we picked up Rondo I think he'd be on the bench

If we were in a game 7 tomorrow.. Clarkson would be starting at pg.. he's having a career year and has probably been our most consistent player.

Right now conley, 1/2 the clippers, and crappy OKC chemistry, and Gobert have gone our way, and that isn't how you want to win, but take every chance you get.

I think Magic Johnson sums it all up. drafting Lonzo was an ESPN scouting let's draft the guy who wants to be a Laker pick. Magic at UCLA games while cameras are on him. all bull.


The real scouting should've been done watching guys like Jayson Tatum Lauri Markhimim identifying that we needed shooting already having a point guard who could shoot the ball in Russell and having him with Ingram made no sense to draft a point guard. Dennis smith Fox or Lonzo.

All of you in here talking about Luke it makes no sense. Luke is one of the smartest coaches in the league. and we all got on here and talked about how great it was to get him hired. so stop all that crap about Luke who's gonna coach this team if luke doesn't? you ran of Dantoni don't run off another smart coach.

He's the only smart competent basketball guy we have in this organization. maybe Ryan West. Luke didn't trade Russell to chase free agents. and I don't care what anyone says that wasn't a basketball move.

Like Steve alford says Lonzo isn't a shooting guard. so why do you trade the guy who can play shooting guard with him. and now we see Lebron and Philly going after Lebron. I've always said and thought Philly was a great place for Lebron and a place he could go from a Basketball Standpoint Embiid Covington Simmons Fultz Reddick they have a lot of great players.

That's why we should've kept all our young players. and now package Mozgoff with someone else that you might want to move. it's just baffling. people were talking about how great we were for getting Lopez and dumping Russell and now people are talking about trading Lopez. we can't keep trading players like that. how are players supposed to learn to play together when you keep trading players.


Presti with OKC kept all those guys together until management didn't want to pay everybody and Harden got traded.

Overall this team really screwed theirselves with the moves they made no three point shooting to complement players. and now you're asking Lonzo to be a scorer.



Lonzo will never be that he has no go to crossover move like Russell has. no junk around the rim like Russell has and no three point shot or jumpshot like Russell has. He's a Ricky Rubio type of player. he'll average most probably 18 points a game. so that's what we got. gotta Roll with it. Lonzo better then Steph Curry come on. I went for the Bull. I was all for it.

Now Lonzo has the Athleticsm. he has the defense. but the shooting he'll never be a great shooter. just like Tyreke Evans their still trying to tell him to work on his shot. it happens that's just who he is.


So get off Luke and Start holding Magic and Rob accountable cause they took a crap on this organization.


Brandon Ingram is our star player. we have to build around him. he's going to be the guy taking all the shots. Lonzo won't be doing that. and Lonzo doesn't want to do that. I can't stand the fact that Lakers fans are expecting this of Lonzo. he's a great kid. he never came in and said he's going to be a scorer. that's not his game. but you have to put players around him that compliment his game Ingram is one. I've benched Lonzo in fantasy he's just not there yet. and yeah I spent a third round pick on him. hopefully he just gives us a little bit of stats in every basketball statistic.


We're in one with this Kid Lonzo and we are all hoping he doesn't bust because yeah it's basically the franchise on this pick. we've traded other 1st round picks. put the whole team on Lonzo. When we traded Eddie Jones we knew Kobe was going to be that superstar. I really hope Lonzo starts playing consistent so Lakers fans can have something to cheer for. Luke keep doing what you do.

my only frustration with Walton is maybe he doesn't do enough in terms of holding players accountable enough (i mean when he benched the starters in the 4th quarter, that was great, he needs to do it more often when it comes to chucking and the sort).

Lukes in a tough spot. cause as much as we don't want to say it. Magic has his firm hand on the team. Magic came out and basically said Lonzo is my guy. so Luke can never say anything bad about Lonzo. look at Fizdale and Gasol. Lukes trying to keep his job. and that sucks that he can't be himself.

Lonzo isn't on the Gasol star level. but Magic has made it like he's the franchise and I think When Lonzo hears that he knows he has more leaway to do what he wants. and then you hear his pops popping off magic has made it to where the Lonzo Ball and Lavar can do what they want.

I'm sure Luke would like to send a message to Lonzo and send him to the bench. he did it with Russell. but now Lonzo is Magic's guy.

in hiring Magic I really think the Lakers screwed up in not letting Luke do what he wants with this team and mold it where he wants to see to build a championship team.

and if you pay attention to Lukes comments after the Russell trade you will see that. he was hired by mitch to make Russell a star and he was doing that. Brandon Ingram was lukes pick. I think if Luke really wanted to draft the way he wanted to he probably would've drafted Tatum or Marhakahiin.


it's gonna be really interesting to see how these guys start playing and if Luke does start holding players accountable. Luke was mentored by Kerr. and What Kerr stands for as a coach I want that on the Lakers so that's why I'm all Luke. I know Luke is gonna coach there's no crap with him. he is a good basketball coach. he's just gotta start coaching how he coached when he was winning championships with the Warriors.

Instead of Tatum, we have Ball and Kuzma... I'd take that 100% of the time.

I'm not a fan of the Magic hire, but I'm less of a fan of the grass is always greener approach to rookies... These kids are teenagers... Give it some time. I'm not sure Kuzma isn't better than Tatum today... Long term, I'm not willing to bet on who will be better at this point... It's too close, and there's certainly no reason to be looking all brokeback at Tatum at this point.

the whole free agents want to come to LA is so overblown, it was overblown by Mitch and Jim, now it's being overblown by Magic and Rob..

Stop and think about it, from way back during the showtime era to today how many big name free agents have come to LA? It's a myth, a mirage or shadow. you don't even need a full hand to count them
