Its not really people pushing Jimbo out. This is the third straight year that Jimbo has used his agent Sexton to flirt with other teams to try and get FSU to cough up more money for the coaching staff, facilities, and head coaching raises. This year he tried to do the same thing with A&M in a season that we drastically underachieved and FSU called his bluff. Now we're stuck in a situation where it looks like he has to go. The fan base is over the same back and forth that Jimbo does every year. We gave this man a 40 million dollar buyout and a raise in each of the last 4 seasons, money for facilities, and gave his entire coaching staff including Kelly :banghead: raises. Thrasher and everyone has been incredibly loyal to him. He is just straight up hurting us this time. We just had 3 recruits decommit last night as he hasnt been on the recruiting trail or communicating with recruits for a full week and we are likely to get transfers as well since he won't communicate with the players either.

I love Jimbo and am grateful for what he's done for our program, but its probably just time to move on at this point. I think both sides are ready for a fresh start. The grass isnt always greener on the other side for him though. FSU is a top 5 program in the nation based on alot of factors. A&M would be a downgrade.

I could care less if he is looking for a raise. The man has earned it! Again Michigan is paying Harbaugh $2 mill more a year to lose to Ohio State the last 3 years and finish no higher than 3rd in the Big Ten.

I agree Kelly and half the assistants aren't worth the money and Fisher should have fired them 2 years ago. The decision not to, it biting Fisher in the arse. But at the same time, he just need to hire some new staff members this year.

I don't know if you are on the same thinking of these people, but y'all(if you are) are smoking some serious crazy chit, if you think Taggart, Funte or Strong can keep us in the title picture and win another one.

You also are skipping the fact that Jimbo has to fight the AD and Boosters for the upgrades to facilities. Does Saban, Dabo or Urban have to do that?? Absolutely not. So why does Jimbo??

Theres a few things to consider. One Jimbo is the sixth highest paid coach in the country. The reason why he isnt paid as much as those coaches is because of the amount of money he chooses to pay his assistants. The amount that we pay our coaches annually is one of the top in the country.

Listen I dont like andy miller or the booster higher ups anymore than the next guy, but that lie that is going around right now that FSU didnt agree to give Fisher the money that he wanted for the facilities is a bold face lie told by Sexton to try and slander FSU and turn it on us for why Fisher is leaving. Im a member on another forum called Warchant.com that has multiple inside sourced posters and a ton of members of the booster club that post on the site. Thrasher met with Jimbo and agreed to give him the money for the facilities. That is a fact. He also gave Jimbo the payroll he wanted to go and get the coaching staff that he wanted. Thrasher apparently drew the line when Jimbo wanted the athletic director Wilcox fired and that is where some of the problems started.

This program has been incredibly loyal to Jimbo though. Word is now coming out from our recruits that Jimbo hasn't been on the recruiting trail for over a month. So that means he has known for a while that he was leaving. That is inexcusable. This is not a matter of fans or others pushing Jimbo out. He has been flirting with the idea of leaving for 3 years now and it is clear that this is the year he finally pulled the trigger and he is causing a mess on the way out.

Fuente dosent interest me but I cant lie I do love the Idea of Taggert. He has a ton of ties to Florida and is an excellent recruiter. He turned two programs who were awful when he got there (USF,WKU) completley around and is highly respected around the nation. Im not going to sit here and say he's better than Jimbo, but lets not forget that we are FSU. We won championships before Jimbo and we will after.

I'll counter with,

Jimbo’s been asking for the standalone facilities for over 5 years now, because he knew it would take FSU time to get the finances worked out, plan, get the location sorted out, and obviously build. In the first 2+ years, certain people, essentially prevented it from even being discussed because they "knew better", and knew the facility wasn’t "necessary" because FSU had won championships and dominated without it in the past.

This repeatedly occurred for the facility, as well as other lesser requests, and other requests that $ was already available and wasn’t even an issue for. This occurred despite the fact that those same people, as well as the other people in charge, promised Jimbo he had their full support for whatever was needed to make FSU the #1 competitor to Bama for top program. In the meantime, FSU spent $ on some of those same certain people’s pet projects that they wanted like the Champions Club and College Town.

At the end of last year, Jimbo was promised that work was going to begin in earnest on the facility and things would start moving quickly. Despite this, all that’s been done is a feasibility study. As a result, FSU can’t even tell potential recruits what the new facility might look like, might include or how big it might be, because no one knows where it’s even going to go yet. Despite this being brought up and requested some 5+ years ago.

If you want to know why Jimbo has gambled the way he has, this is why. He’s tired of waiting and dealing with the complacency, questioning, doubts, delays, and in some cases incompetence, of certain people who think they "know better" that prevent FSU from eventually being the best it can be.

I don't know enough about Taggart to judge him fairly. Why is he fools gold?

Also, why is that the case for him but not Frost? ... which I assume is your belief.
