yep, I've been saying that Jiren is an avatar for Superman.

Goku and Superman are cultural parallels of each other. both are aliens who protect a world that isn't there own. However, Superman (historically) clearly has a higher moral compass than Goku based on what we have seen from Goku in Super, who has shown that he is a sociopath that just loves to fight people and is also a liar. Superman isn't perfect but he's not any of that either.

then here comes Jiren...who looks like an actual alien (based on human accounts of alien encounters). and is angry that Goku's actions have led to him having to fight in a tournament to spare the lives of countless beings in his universe.

Dude was willing to be erased because he didn't want to bring erasure to other universes since he knew he would win. OG right there.

Looks like the Namekians are the new Ribrianne and Rozie. Just a giant waste of time until we get to the main event. Seriously, I get that Gohan has been left behind in favor of Goku, Vegeta, and now Frieza and Future Trunks as well, but come on, he should not be having trouble with two Namekians, especially with Piccolo as backup. He's just on a separate tier than all of them. It's actually insulting to have had this fight be as extended as it is. What exactly was the point of having that whole sparring session with Goku if you're only going to revert him back to being a wuss?

But I get it, they need to fill time until they somehow find an explanation for Goku finding his stamina again and mastering Ultra Instinct for the Jiren rematch.

Number 18 did the lord's work when she eliminated Ribrianne.

The power levels of universe 7 aren't a good way to measure how strong everyone else is tbh. Universe 6 clearly has some advanced beings in terms of power when you see how strong Hit and the Saiyan girls are. that's the only explanation i can think of regarding the Namekians.

I don't know why Senzu beans are banned but using the fusion earrings were legal. The Zeno bros need to let Goku cheat a bit so he can fight Jiren at 100%. They want to be entertained just as much as we do right?

^It's confusing too especially when Universe 2 was interfering with those wands or whatever. How was that not illegal?

I guess if you're going risk erasure by cheating, your cheating has to be something really exciting and amazing in order for it to be allowed.

lol @ the Giants going off the rail today by benching Eli Manning. McAdoo and Reese are so getting fired.

Damn it, I'll never be able to go Super Saiyan because I don't have any S Cells.

**** S Cells? Seriously? What, was Midichlorians already taken?

Jesus, Toriyama is going full on Star Wars at this point.

Yankees taking a risk here because he's never managed but whatever happened in those interviews had to blow cashman and hal away and Boone FWIW knows his stuff. I trust their judgement but I can understand why its unnerving to see Boone elevated to manager level this quickly.

honestly, i don't put too much stock into the impact of baseball managers though. guys have to get out there and perform. i didn't really see the need to fire Joe either tbh especially coming off of a year where the Yankees exceeded expectations and look primed to become a powerhouse squad sooner than later.

me personally, even though it would cause a **** storm, if the Yankees were going to just raw dog it like this and elevate a player to manager status following retirement w/o any experience, i'd have seriously considered Alex Rodriguez. That dude is a baseball savant.

Yeah I trust cashman. And Boone getting the job, to me, means Cashman is calling the shots in the game too. The SF guy was just a better candidate though, no doubt about it.

The interviews didn't mean jack ****. Aaron Boone was hired way back in September, the extra interviews were due diligence by Cashman. There's a reason why Michael Kay immediately said Boone's name the day of Girardi's firing.

So it didn't matter what happened in the post season. That's pretty bad.

Joe had to go. Dude over thought every situation he was in, and there were a lot of games that the Yanks should've won that they blew after Joe mishandled the bullpen. The Yankees produced like a 100 win team yet they only won 91 games. Joe even showcased it in the ALDS when we blew game 2. Yankees came back and won that series INSPITE of Joe. That was 100% the players and not Joe.

That's another thing. Everybody wants to give Joe credit for the team overachieving expectations. In reality, the team Joe managed is nothing like what we expected him to have. We had historic season from Judge that nobody saw coming and an amazing season from Severino that again nobody could've expected. Both were pretty bad last year. We had Chad Greene emerge from a fringe MLB starter to a dominant reliever who could give us 2 dominant innings at any time. This seasons success was really In due part to the players. And thats what Cashman and co see, and thats why they were okay letting Joe go. This team should've won the division, not the wildcard, and we would've if we had a manager who didnt over think everything. Whatever system Joe had to make decisions, it made the team worse, and it'll be an addition by subtraction. Boone isnt going to make any bold changes or knee jerk reactions. Hes gonna go by the book and let things play out in front of him and thats what Cashman wants. Because the team is talented enough to win gamesby themselves. They just need a leader to rally them.

From what I know, and I admit it's not from my friends in the Yankees, but rather my cousin via Michael Kay (he's his godson-ish), nope, it didn't matter. The ONLY way he would he had even a slim chance to keep his job is if he swept through the playoffs. And that was never going to happen.
