I'm just happy they didn't blow the lead. Sure, they almost did, but despite the refs doing their best to make it 8v5 they closed it out. Solid.

That didn't instill any confidence in me. It's better than a loss. Steven and PG are the best players on the team

The only reason why this is a W is because the coach finally put 2 of the big 4 on the floor for most of the game.

One of the 4 plus bench might as well be ground plus shovel

George and Adams were great. Russ is a disaster on offense.

I’m really surprised Russ’ fg percentage isn’t much more than normal. It feels like he’s shot significantly worse this year. Maybe it’s because he was given more of a pass last year.

There needs to be some Grey area here. Russ was horrible shooting and took some awful shots. He also had 14 assists and Adams isn't the threat he is without Russ's interior passing.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Melo only takes 7 shots and we have one of our best offensive games.

True shooting is 5% lower. There was no need for a 'pass' last year. Don't try to rewrite what happened.

Russ had one assist to Adams and George had 6 assists to Adams. Russ did a nice job of passing to George on the wing for assists but besides the PnR, russ always seems to get careless turnovers when he tries to force the ball inside. George’s 9 assist with two turnovers seemed to have a greater impact than Westbrook’s 14 assists with seven turnovers. Russ’ turnovers always seem to come in bunches which maybe feel more impactful.

If you're arguing that George was better than Russ then that's pretty obvious but not really the point.

You said Adams isn’t a threat without russ’ interior passing. I said he was a threat without it tonight because George did a better job. Russ didn’t feed Adams. George did and he did somuch more efficiently.

George is a great guy to have on the wing and Adams is a great big man to have inside. Even with 14 assists, when Russ shoots 6-21 he isn’t doing anything that many other point guards in the league couldn’t replicate or surpass. He’s shooting his worst fg% since his rookie year despite having enough help on the wings that should prove him better spacing to work with than last year. Hes got to be better and there’s no excuse not to be.

Great to get the W. Hopefully they can build on it. Still played like a team that would have lost many, possibly most nights.

No, I said Adams isn't the threat that he is without Russ. A single game not withstanding the majority of Steven's opportunities are created by Russ.

There have only been 6 guards in the league with 14 assists in a game this year. Acting like many guys could replicate that impact is stupid especially when you add 9 rebounds (hint: only 1 guy has done that all year). Russ is 4th among point guards in RPM despite shooting like crap all year. People need to understand that even as bad Russ he's still pretty damn good.

I just quoted you almost verbatim and you are disagreeing? You’re being ridiculous and just looking for an argument.

No Russ hasn’t been “pretty damn good” despite his poor shooting. Defense is a thing too and when you frequently leave your man early and get rebounds, then your if your team wins it’s in spite of you and not because of you. “You people” need to understand that and quit being fanboys.

They had a great offensive game in their last win and Melo took 17 shots.

It's not even a debate. Westbrook's play is tough to defend. Great that he can get assists tonight when she guys make shots. 6 of 21 shooting and 7 tos... With plenty of those 21 shots having the same affect of a live ball turnover.

I just quoted your verbatim and you denied it. You’re absolutely ridiculous and just looking for an argument.

You need to look again, because my exact quote was that Steven "isn't the threat he is without Russ". Not that he's a nothing without Russ, but Russ generates the majority of Steven's offense, he is absolutely not the same threat with every other point guard.

No Russ hasn’t been “pretty damn good” despite his poor shooting. Defense is a thing too and when you frequently leave your man early and get rebounds, then your if your team wins it’s in spite of you and not because of you. “You people” need to understand that and quit being fanboys.

M'kay. We can ignore the reality behind the data because you like your narrative. We have a great defense, and despite you guys acting like he is giving up 25 a night, Russ is part of that. The defense is 2.5 points better with him on the court. His DRPM is 4th in the league among point guards. Russell Westbrook continues to not be the problem, despite his glaring issues he is a large positive on the court.
