hard to think anyone who had a problem wit this deal. I remember when I wasn't a member of this forum watching the outrage that the Nets kept a guy who played their system better. But also had the defensive wingspan, had the intangibles of rebounding, kicking out the ball and protecting the ball. I remember saying to myself, DinWiddie at times and this was last season. At times Spencer Dinwiddie reminded me of a poor man's Chauncey Billups. And look at him now. Still struggles on the screen a bit, but protects the ball, has controlled possessions and rebounds. The last part of his game is at the end his confidence. And that will come wit experience.
People were heated when Yogi showed next to nothing during his brief time here. Dinwiddie's D League footage showed flashes of him being a better prospect and while I had doubts about Dinwiddie at first (he lacked confidence early on), I failed to see why people were so heated at Marks for letting Yogi go. He's not that good, my last impression of him in a Nets uniform was how he struggled to bring the ball up the floor versus pressure D from Brandon Jennings in a preseason game.

He's like a coach on the floor on offense and can switch onto a guy like Barnes today and hold his own on defense.
He is a legit starting PG and there is zero reason why Russell should be pigeon holed into PG duty when Dinwiddie is more than capable. Let Russell play starting SG and 2nd unit PG like what was originally planned.

I was wrong about Dinwiddie that's for sure... Love the guy now, just can't figure out why his home and away splits are so different even his FT% drops significantly on the road...

Yep. I think it's definitely worth experimenting with Russell at the 2. He might be more deadly that way as his game won't be as predictable, the pull up threes will go down, and his turnovers will likely decrease as well by virtue of not always being the lead ballhandler.

I did after the first few rough games and Yogi exploded. It was hard not to considering he was picked up in the midst of a 1-10 stretch.
He’s surpassed my expectations which was Sean Livingston 2.0. He’s better than 2014 Livingston.
that was my comparison too of him. And agreed, he's better. He actually shoots 3s and makes them.

Yes, I think Din is the perfect compliment to Russell. Can't wait to see all our guys healthy and together again. This is a really fun team to root for.

2? Arguably the entire pre-season projected starting 5 didn't play: No Russell, No Lin, No Crabbe, No RHJ & No Mozgov.

I think he meant two key active players. Lin is a key player, but not active. I wouldn't call Mozgov a key player. I think it's 3 key players, Russell, RHJ and Crabbe. But Russell and RHJ are arguably the 2 best active players on the team. Dinwiddie is the best active players and now growing to be one of the top 5 players on the team, and that's including Lin IMO.

I'd say Carroll has been a top 3 impact player thus far, if not top 2. He's got the perfect balance of both veteran leadership and on the court production. Dinwiddie is also right there with him.
I'm very excited to see what the team looks like with everyone back healthy (minus Lin), later on this season.

Wecan laugh, but 70-80% of this board was killing marks last year when ferrell played well for a 3 week period in dallas. i got killed for saying we were better off with whitehead and dinwiddie

Glad we got the win cause without 3 starters + LeVert struggling, were in a rough position talent wise. Kudos to Dinwiddie, the vets and the coaching staff for keeping the team together.
we would have destroyed them by 15 or better if we had the full squad. not even a concern. Atlanta is next, we need to smash them.
John Collins is out for atlanta, that will help our cause

When DLO comes back he should come off the bench backing up Dinwiddie at first. The backcourt is jelling with Din and AC imo.

Re: 11/29/17 Brooklyn Nets @ Dallas Mavericks
Today against the Hawks we have to win.
They are without Collins, Dedmon and Muscala, so their frountcourt is simply Ilyasova, Plumlee and Babbitt.
RHJ and Crabbe are probable, at least coming off the bench.
If Crabbe plays this is a great thing for us: no minutes for Kilpatrick.

I don't think that's a good idea. Maybe one game he comes off the bench but not many more. And he'll be on limited minutes I would guess for a few games.
