The 2018 draft appears to be a very, VERY good class. Dare I say generational? Yes, for those keeping track at home, I did say the same thing about the 2017 class and it turned out not to be "generational", but this time I mean it. :)

I think we are 8-10 deep in terms of franchise players. Bagley, Ayton, Porter (hurt), Wendell Carter, Jaren Jackson, McCoy, Donic, Knox, Sexton, Bridges, Robert Williams... Mitchell Robinson will be a steal late. These current college athletes are all as good as or better than Chriss, Bender and Jackson - RIGHT NOW.

Quick fun exercise. Rank Fultz, Ball, Tatum, Jackson, DSJ, Issac vs. your 2018 top ten + Chriss and Bender. Here is mine:

1) Bagley
2) Ayton
3) Tatum
4) Porter
5) Doncic
6) Jaren Jackson, Jr.
7) Jonathan Issac
8) Wendell Carter
9) Bamba
10) Fultz
11) DSJ
12) Sexton
13) Lonzo Ball
14) Brandon McCoy
15) Mitchell Robinson
16) Josh Jackson
17) Kevin Knox
18) Robert Williams
19) Miles Bridges
20) Dragan Bender
21) M. Chriss

Keep in mind watching players against college competition and others against pro competition is going to make them look drastically different. In some cases, given the right situation and teammates they can adapt to the NBA immediately but given the fact they usually go to bad teams it makes it tougher. I do think, however, that the top 4 or so (if Porter was healthy) all would have gone #1 last year if they were int hat draft. I doubt most of the others would have been ranked much higher than the consensus top 7 or 8. It likely would have been a mixed bag.

I mean you are ranking guys based on their college games against guys who have played 20 games or so as a pro. And then Fultz, for example hasn't really played except when he was severely impacted by injury.

Thx Fische! Great perspective. It will be fun to watch this 2018 group develop. Should be a great draft class.

I like Sexton and Trae Young. Not interested in Duval. I don't even know who is Lamar Peters.

Super drafts you can get 50%+ All-Star strike rates within the top 6 and sometimes up to the top 10.

But I see this as a typical strength draft with a median of 1 All-Star at Pick 1, Between Pick 2-5, Between Pick 6-10.

If I had to guess using that as a guide - Ayton, Porter, Jackson.

Bagley. Have you seen this guy? He is Durant meets Garnett. All-Star guaranteed.

Continuing with the Arizona vs. UNLV - Brandon McCoy more than held his own vs. Ayton.

Bamba isn't special... but has special size (length).

Kevin Knox is looks like he is as good as Tatum. There is Luka Doncic. I love Wendell Carter. Sexton, Robert Williams may turn out. Mitchell Robinson may be a head case, but he is crazy big and coordinated. Bridge brothers.

This looks like a Super draft to me...

That UNLV vs Arizona game last night was solid. Brandon McCoy had a nice game, not sure how I feel about him as an NBA prospect yet but he's definitely got a big body, a decent post game, a knack for being in the right place on offense, and a soft touch. Not mobile nor is he much of a defender though, and that kind of worries me with where the NBA is now.

Ayton looks really good when he has that motor running, still waiting to see him in full gear for a full game though. He's a bit too comfortable taking mid-range jumpers for a guy of his physical traits, but I don't mind it when he's open. I've seen mentions of his hands not being the best and you can kind of see it sometimes, so that's a little bit worrying. He could definitely fight for the #1 pick when it's all said and done though, you just don't see guys with his size and athleticism often, much less with the skill set he appears to have.

I still think it's Doncic's to lose if he decides to declare though. 16.8/6.2/4.3 on 61 TS% and 2:1 ATO in Liga ACB/Euroleague this year at his age is ridiculous. I'd be happy to gey any of Ayton, Bagley, and Doncic so far though lol.

I think there are solid targets in the late lotto if we are able to identify them, which is why I'm not sweating missing out on the top of the draft if that comes to pass. Accordingly, that's why I'm not sweating our adding some talent mid-season.

As far as the PGs are concerned, I like Sexton and Young more than I liked Fox or DSJ last year. But so many of the league's better PGs fell later in the draft. Good luck to our scouts trying to figure it all out.

The game was great, both guys managed to put up big numbers. At the end of the game, Ayton just seemed unarguable, getting whatever he wanted. Ayton is such a physical freak even compared to McCoy, I saw him fumble a couple of easy passes though. Stone hands can really kill a big man. I liked what I saw out of McCoy, sorta reminds me of Greg Monroe with his post game presence.

Sexton 7 points on 0-4 shooting in 30 minutes.

I like seeing what bad games look like as much as good games as you can analyse whether they have the upside to overcome them.

Ayton is the real deal. He is a dominating inside player. And he has not even scratched the surface of his abilities yet. You can see it. He is so much like Embiid.

I really wish the Suns had the Lakers pick too. I really like Ayton, but I also love Bagley and what they brings to the table, along with Doncic, Porter Jr., Sexton, Young, and others.

Ayton still intrigues the hell out of me.
