Who said that?

Nobody on the Suns board. There is no question he will get the max.

For a team starved of a potential star/franchise changing player, I have no doubts he'd be maxed out even with major weaknesses in his game. He's young, he speaks well, he's already got a great game at 21 and he's really the only reason non-Suns fans watch Suns games.

Booker has that "every man" appeal. He is so good, but he is good in a way that younger kids think they can be. I remember doing work in high schools in remote mountain villages in the Philippines years ago. The kids would ask where I was from and when I said Phoenix, the boys would yell out in unison "Steve Nash!!!" He was their hero. He was like them. Like the way that they play, but really good. Booker has that same type of appeal.

He's pretty much the only reason Suns fans even watch Suns games too.

You know you have a max player when he regularly scores 30 and you think that's normal for him.

Speak for yourself. I know some only watch for Booker but I watch because I've been a long time Suns fan and will watch them regardless and am excited about our young guys and like to watch the team more so now that we are playing all of them.

I watch Booker, and I watch for growth in JJ and Bender. I know what we have in everyone else.

If Booker is not playing and JJ is riding the pine....I turn it off. I have more interesting things to do than waste 2-3 hours watching garbage to prove my fandom.

For sure but I do think that many that watch the games would watch less if Booker wasn’t playing. But yes it is better to watch the kids like Booker, Warren, Bender, Jackson etc play more than we’ve been used to seeing in few seasons past.

Sure, some have said in game threads the only reason they watch is Booker. That's likely true for a number of people but not all Suns fans in general. I've always watched my teams year in and year out (Suns, Chargers, Wildcats) regardless of who is on them.

Sure I enjoy it more when the team is better.

Wondering what Booker's chances are at an all-star nod this season. Booker should have a outside shot of making the team

Harden/Paul, Curry/Thompson, Lillard/McCollum, Westbrook ... Booker really doesn't have anyone to take the defensive pressure off of him. He has to do it mostly by himself.

It would be horrible to see Lonzo Ball get voted in by Laker fans

His 46 tonight against Philly were just amazing. Long shots, creative, people draped all over him. I do not ever remember the Suns having an offensive star like this. Truly. Amare could score when he received the pass down low. But no Sun ever could cause the fear that Booker can with the ball in his hands out front at the end of a game. He is Kobe-esque in those moments.

McCollum has never been an All-Star and Paul has been injured.

Curry, Lillard, Westbook
Harden, Thompson

If they can fit in a 6th guard Booker deserves it.

I would worry more about Ball if you didn't have Curry and Harden there. Curry is probably the most popular player in the league and Harden will likely get voted in as well (I think there are still a ton of Rockets fans in China). Westbrook didn't even get voted in last year.

Luckily only two backcourt players get voted in so that gives him a better chance as getting named as an alternate. There are also some injured potential all stars. Kawhi will probably be back I think, but there is Gobert. It's too bad Butler and George came west but at least Hayward went east.

If he keeps having games like that one, his chances might be pretty good. He's outplaying previous year snubs who people might have tried to get in, like Lillard.

It would be great if the Suns could get an all star this year.

I was a little surprised to hear Drysdale say he is the first Sun to average 23 points/4 assists since Barkley.

At the end of his max extension, whether he stays or goes, he will be the best player to ever wear a Suns uniform.

Return to Phoenix Suns
