Nashty: Game 25 @ Philly

Post#1 » by batsmasher » Tue Dec 5, 2017 2:15 am

Standings

How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

+3 Booker: Our Lord and Savior
+2 TJ: Great game all around from him. Hitting a 3, good defense, and even some passing.
+1 Chandler: Don't know what's gotten into him the past 2 games but I'd like to see more of it.

HM: Most played pretty well but I want to shout out to Josh Jackson. Very good defensive effort out there. I can see glimpses on the offensive end too where he's starting to put it together. I'm not as worried about his shot as most. He needs to tighten up his handle so he isn't stripped so often. I love that he can seemingly get to the basket at will. Once he gets there though he needs to slow down and think about his shot instead of just chucking it up which often times gets blocked. I have faith he'll figure it out.

Very encouraged with the team with the past two games effort level.

+3 Booker - looked like prime Kobe down the line in the 4th after starting the game ice cold.
+1 Ulis - Did very well dropping 12 dimes and hit a big 3 down the line
+1 TJ - dude's just doing work. A quiet but very efficient 25/8/3/2 and even hit a 3!
+1 Chandler - 12 rebounds (5 o-boards) and 4 assists while playing excellent defense on Embiid. Embiid is hard to stop but he did plenty to frustrate and throw him off his rhythm.

Notes: I didn't think Len would do well but he got embarrassed by Embiid numerous times out there. Len's not a bad straight up defender but against a big, strong C with a finesse game, he's pretty much useless out there.
