You got me thinking about where the term alley-oop came from.

From wiktionary:
Borrowing from French allez-houp, cry of circus acrobat about to leap, from allez (“go: second person plural imperative”) (from Old French aler (“walk”)) + houp, of unknown origin

Not content with that nugget of wisdom, I did the Google translation of "Allez-Houp". It comes out "Go Hoop"

Capital City Go Go is my absolute favorite G-League team name and will really play well in DC. Thought they embraced the sillyness and tied it into the local culture in a really cool way. I would would honestly rather be the “Wisconsin Cheesecurds” than the Herd.

Caught some of the game on FB. If it were up to me I would give Alexander and either Mumford or Young two way contracts like now. And if Vaughn isn’t going to play, cut him and sign one of these guys.

That's a tremendous name. Go-Go is quite literally the homegrown music of DC and I think they knocked it out the park. Distinctive, fun and local-centric.

Probably not a good thing that I cringe and go "wtf?" at every movement DJ makes on the court. Such an awkward, unnatural player. What a wasted pick.

I too enjoy cheesy minor league mascots. My favorite is the Brewers minor league team, the Biloxi Shuckers. I even have this hat:

DJ went to the D league and did all the things we drafted him for and showed a more diverse skill set than I thought just based on that highlight package. Weird time to rip the guy, I mean I wish he did that in the NBA, but it’s good to see he can do some stuff

While I agree he played well, I just cant ever imagine the stuff he does working successfully in the NBA. Like, ever.

Oh I have my reservations for sure but he gets that shot off pretty easily and appears to have plenty of range and decent hands. Hoping he becomes a better version of Mirza

Hope we're wrong, but I agree. Slow and herky-jerky. I just can't see it working unless he develops old Toni Kukoc-like IQ.

It definitely makes sense and all. I just think it sounds too goofy, even tho I'm usually on board with that (love UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs, Wichita Wingnuts, Akron Rubber Ducks).

And don't get me wrong. I HATE the Herd name. The logo is even worse. Oshkosh Aviators would've been my choice. Or Oshkosh Flyers. Or Oshkosh Otters. I wish they would've gone with Oshkosh over Wisconsin too.

That jumpshot seems broken and he had 4 rebounds. He will fit right in but we don't really need another looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. Henson, Thon and Telly have that covered.

Seems like we are wasting all of our 45 days with GP2 & Bolomboy
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

That's what I was thinking. Other than the spot up jumpers, I don't want him taking any of the shots he took.

64% 3pt shooting is bad, right?

When does olympic basketball start, cause he is on the team for that.

You think towel-waving is easy?!! It takes years to get that form down.
