Standings

How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

+3 Jared Dudley- we play so much better when he is on the court
+2 Josh Jackson- solid game overall
+1 Greg Monroe- nice to have a big who is offensively competent

-3 Dragan Bender- he may as well have just stayed in the locker room all game. His passiveness and lack of confidence is getting a little concerning

-2 Marquese Chriss- tough matchup with Ibaka but he could have stayed in the locker room with Bender

-1 Tyler Ulis- he is proving game after game he nothing more than a 3rd string PG

Nashty
+2 Booker - played an excellent passing game even when he wasn't shooting well. Shame he had to go down to an injury when we were on a run in the 4th.
+2 Moose - double double with some great passing. Wished we went to him a bit more often on offense
+1 JJ - I thought he played very well by his standard. He did well getting to the line and hitting them at a good rate. This is the JJ I want to see.
+1 Dudley - the guy is such a savvy vet. He physically can't do a ton on the court but he makes all the right plays and he stays ready for even the spot minutes he plays. He comes in and drops an efficient 12/4/3 in 25min.

Cactus
-2 Bender - neither guys did anything in playing time they got. Kind of pathetic when Toronto's front line is hardly imposing on either ends of the court
-2 Chriss -neither guys did anything in playing time they got. Kind of pathetic when Toronto's front line is hardly imposing on either ends of the court
-1 Ulis - Every time he plays poorly, it's almost always because his match up on the court has somehow figured out how to exploit his size disadvantage.
- 1 TJ - unfair or not, but when he's the only other guy on the team that can score int he double digits consistently, he can't take himself out of the game like this.

Just wanted to come over here and give Josh Jackson a +3 for that baseline crossover dribble on Poeltl.

that's a Nashty cross if I've ever seen one.

+1 Dudley
+1 Booker
+1 Monroe
+1 James
+1 Jackson

-3 Bender. I'm seeing conditioning issues. I bet we'll see more flashes next year as he continues to improve physically, but he's probably still two summers away from being a consistent, positive force out there.
