I'm pretty convinced at this point that rey isn't luke's daughter unfortunately, though i do think that was the plan according to george. alot of the marketing has been pointing to kylo and rey getting together at some point.

I hope we NEVER find out Rey's origin, much like we never really learned who Anakin's father was (well as far as the movies are concerned).

But we know that's not going to happen. I am guessing that Rey is indirectly related to Emperor Palpatine. Think about the massive shift if it turned out that she's kind of the heir to the Empire?

A picture of Rey as a Jedi, and one with Rey as a Sith, with the heading saying "Choose your destiny". If I had to gamble, I'd say they pull the good old switcheroo. Rey is a descendant of the Sith, joins Snoke after she kills Luke. Kylo killed Han, but can't kill his mom, proving that there's still good in him. Episode 9 will be about Kylo becoming a Jedi and saving Rey.

This is a total speculative guess...so nothing I will say is a spoiler beyond what you see in trailers...

I cannot see Rey turning to the Dark Side. Trailers lie. They will obviously play that card because it gets the fans restless but that's not going to happen because Disney plays it SAFE. I BET some kind of situation will prompt Kylo-Ren (dark) and Rey (light) to join forces and defeat Snoke. Rey is the ultimate Mary Sue. Disney is pandering to female nerds, which is cool. At the end of the day, she takes me out of the films because we haven't once seen her struggle while Luke was out of his league for two films before becoming a bad a$$ in the last film.

Speaking of Skywalker, I'm also going to guess Luke is going to go the way of Yoda...Seems like each film is a goodbye and a passing of the baton.

Putting out random theory regarding Rey.

I bet Rey was the result of immaculate conception much like Anakin was. Star Wars being a story of the Skywalker family, I bet Leia is the mother.

Would somewhat make sense due to Kyle knowing of a girl. And might explain how Leia and Han got estranged.

or han risked it, and he's her dad. Im entirely convinced kylo is pulling an itachi(and han was in on it)

Yeah. I watched a few spoiler reviews. I can assume that Rian Johnson will make it worth my entertainment value but overall, VERY underwhelming...and dare I say, anticlimatic. Still enjoyable but once again, DOESN'T add anything significant to the folklore. More or less waters it down.

The problem is - once you're expecting a big reveal every movie you lose mileage every time.

"Luke - I am your father" was shocking. Yoda and Obi-Wan dying and passing the torch was masterful. But now you see some Jedis and you have to at least figure they're second cousins, that the older, more important one will die, and that each of them at least dabbled in Dark Arts.
