I've been impressed by Dotson's defense, and I like his shooting stroke and the lift he gets on his shot. He also seems like a good rebounder for a guard.
His handle is weak. He shrinks from pressure and can't go by anyone off the dribble. So he can only get shots off by spotting up or moving without the ball, and the Knicks don't seem to be particularly looking for him or running plays to free him. With his lack of handle, he is also not getting to the line or getting any shots at the rim, and not creating shots for others.
Opposing teams do seem to be showing him respect by sticking close to him on the perimeter. This spaces the floor, but largely takes Dotson out of the game and limits his shot attempts.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.
