Never understood why the building rights couldn't have been Rogers Skydome or Scotiabank Raptors Outpost or whatever so the building identity has continuity. The Raps home will now always be the ACC. Might as well call it The Richer Than You Think Home of Air Canada Carter. Then that changes to Google Home of Air Canada Carter. Or Mingles.com Home of Air Canada Carter. Or Vince's Palace brought to you by Payday Loans fking people over since rules allowed loan sharks into the lending market without breaking kneecaps.
I laugh at the Cash Money commercial where they point out that their clients appreciate the safe and clean environment. How many businesses have to advertise that they clean their stores and ensure all safety hazards have been addressed?
Saw an ad on an Easy Financial sign saying loans starting at 39.9%. Starting? Why are these places legal?
Your rant against sponsorship will fall on deaf ears. All my expressions of frustration over advertising creep have been met with encouragement that I get with the times. Young people have been conditioned to accept advertising everywhere and that tradition must take a back seat.
Yup...must be the young people...
...or....
While I see your point the basketball and hockey arenas of that era were ad free. Baseball only had ads in the outfield. Because I grew up during a time where advertising in sports wasn't over the top, I am more sensitive to it. I have been told by younger fans that I need to catch up to the times. I conclude from that that younger people have been conditioned to accept advertising in places I find objectionable.
