Something weird happening with a Sixer's jump shot form is like Kevin O'Connors bat signal.

Find it more likely he got injured lifting weights or doing dumb teenager crap like riding a dirt bike. Why no one in practice noticed it and thought to continue to trot him out there is a major concern. Especially when the most important player on the team is made of styrofoam.“No (he’s not comfortable with it), and so we’re gonna get back on track. His heart is in the right place. All by himself, he pivoted out over the summer and tried to make it better and tweak it, and he’s in a place right now where we’re gonna try to remind him where his shot was and try to bring that back into probably more a tighter shot, bring his release point down a little bit, bring the ball closer to his body. We have a Team Markelle all around him to help him, and he’s gonna be just fine.”“It was just something going on where I wanted to try something new, but my free throw’s going to look the same as college. I’m just trying to look at different ways to see how the ball can go in the hoop,” said Fultz. He stressed that his primary point-of-emphasis has been on getting ready for a deeper three-point line, and improving his proficiency as an off-ball threat. “This is a further three, so just [getting ready to] catch-and-shoot. You’ve got great people here—Ben, JJ, everybody—so you’ve got to be ready to catch-and-shoot whenever you’re open.”
I think it's clear he tried to do something with his shot.
To be fair Brown is speculating. He sounds sure of his speculation but there is nothing definitive in that statement from Brett, that he 100% made changes to his shot.
As for what Fultz said a couple days later he stated
Fultz then sat out the team’s preseason game against the Boston Celtics on Oct. 6 with what the team described as “shoulder soreness”. On Oct. 10, Fultz finally revealed to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor that the shoulder issue was causing the change in his shot form.
So either he's a liar or mitigating the severity of the injury in order to continue to play

Like I said if you can show me one time in the history of the NBA someone has injured themselves by making a mechanical change to the way they shoot the ball than I'll be all on that theory.
Brett was even skeptical of the theory of getting injured due to a change in jumpshot.

I can't. All I can do is trust our "Basketball Guy", Bryan Colangelo.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
ya I've defended fultz all along, and was a big proponet of him in the draft, he was my top guy...
but I'm saying it now... Fultz is a pathetic weak minded scrub.. that's where all this evidence points
been 6 weeks since his scan came back CLEAN.. and still not playing or even reports of him shooting. The dude must be a legit MENTAL MIDGIT
its on him to prove me wrong and make me eat my words but at this point, screw fultz, that's how I feel
and screw this front office for letting this charade get to this point with still no clear answers or time tables.
put his pathetic ass out there and he either works through it and becomes a player, or if it ruins him, then he was never great to begin with because great players dont sit out 6 weeks cuz they are afraid to shoot
either way, pathetic on both fultz and the sixers
and I'll happily eat crow if he comes out and dominates, I'll enjoy every bit of it, but right now, this is how I feel

who's ready for an announcement of yet another announcement? This is when I wish people would press them more...but they are masters of saying alot while saying nothing ; making it look like they totally answered your questions...so that is a moot point.

man I say what I feel... a lot of times I am right in what I say but there are plenty I am wrong and I never shy away from saying so, I hope to god I am wrong, but how can you honestly defend him or the team at this point?
It's pretty naive to do so at this point no? Even if you hope and pray all you want that he legit has a muscle imbalance this bad to be out this long... deep down you know that is BS, and if it is true, then this just sheds poorly yet again on the FO for having him play originally

can you show me where? I dont believe I have done so but if I have then I'm obviously wrong.. I have said that if he truly is exaggerating on this then he is weak minded, but I never strait up called him that like I have now, as there is no doubt in my mind he is part if not all to blame in this

I literally just posted a few points showing my skepticism, but I'm not calling our player's mental toughness into question. I'm just saying your post feels like when Lonzo is on the verge of an empty triple double tomorrow and the Lakers are up five in the fourth, a similar impulsive, hot take will come from you.

It hasn't been 6 weeks yet? Six weeks would be this coming Sunday. They said they'd give an actual update in a few days.
Idk just seems like you're jumping the gun a little bit. I'm gonna wait until the update.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion III
I dunno at this point. I can only go with realistic scenario's.
It's one thing to say that the reason for his reluctance to shoot the ball is because of a form change. That the injury is bogus or marginal at best and that it's a mental thing. I think it was debunked because he was actually diagnosed by a specialist with a physical condition but whatever it's at least plausible and is abstract enough that you can't really prove it to be the case unless your him or his trainer
What I find less plausible is saying that his condition is legitimate and was caused by said form change. You start getting into medical territory there and you need to start to prove yourself on that one. I can't just blindly assume something like this to be true when there are more likely scenarios. From what I've read this injury is often linked to lifting weights. You know what players tend to do in the off-season? They lift weights. Not saying that's what happen here but I can at least wrap my brain around that

Negrodamus wrote:LloydFree wrote:Negrodamus wrote:If he's out for the year, Colangelo needs to go.
Why?
One of two reasons:
#1. Because he left Fultz to his devices with seemingly no plan between Summer League and preseason. So Fultz took it upon himself, and his trainer, to change his shot which consequently caused this issue with his shoulder, if I'm piecing this insanity together correctly. That's a complete lack of control over your multimillion dollar 19 year old investment.
OR
#2. Fultz mysteriously hurt his shoulder and had the gross negligence to let him play all training camp, preseason and a few games in the beginning of the season without seeing a specialist to begin the rehab process. If this is something as serious as a season ender, he should have never played to begin with.
None of #2, but a lot of #1 is probably applicable.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

People are just frustrated that another top draft pick is hurt, and they're childishly taking it out on the guy who is hurt. No one's to blame, **** happens.
