It's kind of disappointing how obvious it is that these guys on TNT don't really do any research on the teams they show.

Not watching it but read on twitter that C-Webb said Embiid is an MVP candidate (I agree on that) but Giannis isn't because his team isn't winning enough...despite the Bucks being higher in the standings

These dudes are just horrible analysts. Even on basic stuff that'd take like 10 seconds to check.

He even started the whole conversation with the Embiid stuff, then mentioned LeBron and Kyrie.

I dont think anyone really watches the TNT crew for actual NBA knowledge and breakdowns. They're just for entertainment purposes

Barkley going on about the money he claims that Houston owes him.

Shaq replies: "You stunk up the gym when you played there."

I just don't understand how guys that spent so many years in the league, that were brilliant players (not you Kenny), can get so lazy with the research part of the job...

I think there was a thread about this some time ago.
When you realize they are mostly there for name recognition/comic relief they become a little easier to tolerate.
If you're tuning in for insightful or informative analysis you're looking in the wrong place.

But yes it is embarrassing how they routinely get fundamental facts wrong.

Didn’t Kenny Smith say before that he wanted to get into coaching or being a general manager?

There’s no way any team would ever consider hiring him, seeing as he is so lazy as a basketball analyst.

Okay, I get it. But I still don't think it's too much to ask to do a little homework on the 2 or 4 teams you're covering that day, especially when it's your job to talk about basketball.

I wouldn't even hire him to do the gear management for Rockets power dancers.

That said, those folks are perfect for TNT.

He actually landed an interview for the Rockets coaching gig. But I'm pretty sure that was just Les being nice. His camp reached out to Les and the Rockets

Rockets need the #1 seed, and get GS/SA to play each other.

Underrated initial stat on Houston's new players: The # 1 duo in the entire NBA so far this season for net rating is Moute/Tucker with 114.5/93.8 (plus 20.7) when they are on the floor together. It's about 400 minutes so not a gigantic sample but not a small one either.

10 points, 8 assists 8 rebounds 3 steals 4 blocks 0 turnovers :dontknow:

Uh... 8 assists vs 10 points. I'd be playing him to pass in the final seconds of the game.

The show has won nine Emmy Awards, while Johnson has won three as a studio host and Barkley has won three as a studio analyst.

In addition to winning nine Emmy Awards, it was announced live on the May 11th, 2016 edition that Inside was to be inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame in October 2016, becoming just the twelfth program to receive the honor and the third sports show to do so after SportsCenter and Monday Night Football.

Gosh - I didn’t see the TNT show yet (I record it so will watch later), but dang - sounds like those guys said some dumb stuff. They aren’t really fans of the current Rockets though, or CP3, so I’m not completely shocked, but still - saying CP3 isn’t known for defense is pretty bad. Like many journalists, they have their biases though...

I warned you guys about TNT's backhanded comments about the Rockets in the first page. You have to have the brain the size of a peanut to watch Inside the NBA for good basketball talk. In general, they have a problem with analyzing basketball. The show should be renamed Outside the NBA because they don't even talk about basketball.

That was an ugly Laker win but I'll take it. They're dead last in FT% and it's keeping these games close. Nice to see them finally close one out after giving away so many games they should've won. Brandon Ingram has taken a big step this season. Randle is in a contract year and has been playing like it. Lonzo with 4 blocks, 3 steals, game-winning assist and near triple double. Philly has better top end talent but Lakers have more depth. Fun game. Good luck to 6ers the rest of the season.
