Ky Bowman my man.
Another blue chip football prospect who switched sports.
He's so fast, good lord.

Cleveland won when local lebron came out.
Chicago won when local rose came out.
Phoenix wins when local Bagley comes out?
You could almost argue that the Lakers won when they got the 2nd pick, as they avoided having to give up their pick that year, plus another in a couple years. Along with getting their homeboy that had mutual love in Ball.

Thanks god they missed on Simmons.
OH boy, I was 100% sure he was going to be a Laker.
Still do tbh.

Jaren Jackson is pushing Mo Bamba for top 5:
In 26 minutes - 17 points (7 FGAs), 13 rebounds, 5 blocks

Other than Trier and Jackson-Cartwright, it's been mostly freshman this year which is a bit unusual for AZ, but tonight they get a lot of their heart back in Rawle Alkins who should provide a boost for the team. Great college vet.

I'm not sure what Sexton's elite skill is when he's struggling.

He doesn't have one when he's struggling. Wow, Bama takes the lead on his bank 3.

Trier needs to pick it up. None of these dudes can guard him.

Sexton hitting 3s is important for his game as he likes to play at the basket.

Re: NBA Draft and NCAA Basketball
Solid games from both of the major prospects. Sexton is very good at getting into the paint and getting to the free throw line, and he showed some decent passing towards the end there when the defense really jumped on him. Shot selection could use some work, but I liked what I saw from him tonight. Ayton's motor on defense still worries me, but I like what I see on offense for sure. Personally think that of healthy players it's Doncic, Bagley, Ayton, then everyone else.

I agree. I still would love to see some better interior D from Bagley and Ayton and possibly some better range from 3 for Bagley. I really hope we are in position to get one of those three or Porter.
I think ideally Doncic to play in the backcourt with Booker and then with MIami pick one of the C's there in the mid-late lottery might make the most sense. I'm not completely sure I trust this PG crop.
Tankathon right now has us taking Sexton at 6, and Knox at 13.
Last two times I've gone there the Suns have won on my first sim try which was kind of odd.
If we end up 5th-7th I really hope somehow Porter gets a clean bill of health and slides. I haven't seen much of him but I read nothing bad about him. We just can't screw up this pick.

We spent 6 months hoping for one of Fultz, Ball, Jackson and within 2 months that all has changed.
So McDonough just needs to pick an All-Star regardless of who.

Re: NBA Draft and NCAA Basketball
Potential No. 1 pick, Luka Doncic, scored a career-high 33 points on 21 shots, and had six rebounds and four assists in an overtime loss to Olympiacos.
He made 8-of-12 on two-point attempts, and 4-of-9 from three. He also turned the ball over just once in 38 minutes. All stats from the game can be seen here.
Reporter David Pick said that scouts from the Lakers, Nuggets, Hawks and Wizards were in attendance to see Doncic’s career night.

There was a pretty wide range overall of who people wanted. Most had Fultz 1, and most had JJ 2. But by the end there were plenty of supporters for Isaac, Tatum and Fox as well.
The thing is, the last draft was a little less clear cut near the top and ran about 8-9 deep whereas this one is more like 3-5 guys in the first tier and then a pretty big second tier.
I think last years 1-8 tier actually falls kind of in between this year's two tiers.
Of course there are outliers like Kuzma and John Collins...and even great picks like Anunoby and Bell (of course by the Raps and Warriors)...so hopefully we get at least one gold or at least a silver pick from maybe our 2nd rounder, or AT LEAST the Miami pick, and absolutely nail our own pick, even if it does land at 7 or something.

Re: NBA Draft and NCAA Basketball
Reading around it seems consensus for the top guys is something like:
1-3: Doncic, Bagley, Ayton
4: Porter
5-6: Bamba, Jackson
7-9: Sexton, Knox, Bridges
1-3: Doncic, Bagley, Ayton
4: Porter
5-6: Bamba, Jackson
7-9: Sexton, Knox, Bridges

That's pretty much exactly how I have it in my mind, except not sure about that last group...I'd probably make that a wide group. But there is simply way too much college basketball left to be played.
We just REALLY need lotto luck this one year. If there was one year we need it, it's this year, though of course Simmons would have been nice.

Re: NBA Draft and NCAA Basketball
Honestly, we were pretty lucky last year. It was considered a 3 player draft most of the year and although we drafted 4, we got one of the three. That said, the player who WASNT one of the three in the three player draft is looking like the best choice. It just goes to show that WHO you draft is still the most important thing.

In the last 20 years there's been more All-Stars at pick 10 than pick 2.
So whether it's skill or luck we just need to get it done.

Interesting. Looking forward to Justise adding to that outcome;)
