They thought they were building a playoff team with Zach Randolph, Vince Carter, Garrett Temple & George Hill as their best players IN 2017?!

I think it's pretty accurate and there's nothing wrong with calling them out for the situation they put themselves in.
Been a Warrior fan since 1988 and sat through the Chris Cohan (1994-2010) era with 1 playoff appearance in 16 seasons (in a league where half the teams make it every year). They got the same kind of criticism and it hurt to have to sit through that and have your favorite team mocked at every turn, but the truth is they deserved every bit of it (and probably more).
I think it’s derisive name calling, and it’s unfortunate as Kings fans that we can’t read threads without the typical “kick them when their down” users. I have no problem with folks objectively pointing out the team is struggling, but I don’t see how terms like dumpster fire are necessary
The team is struggling to get back to respectability, for sure, though.
I have been a Kings fan for 25 years and still watch every game....
My view
if the goal is to get a top 5 pick we are failing
If the goal is to make the playoffs we are failing
If the goal is to be a perpetual 35 win lottery team we have that down solid.....
Seems like dumpster fire is fair to me...

If only Utah offered him an extension.

Re: George Hill unhappy
George Hill was brought in to mentor Fox and show him how a professional point guard in the NBA is supposed to play. They were never making the playoffs. The problem is George Hill is only useful when he's playing off of stars. He could be the 4th best player on your team. If you were the Kings you'd hope that George HIll could play decent enough to get traded to a good team when Mason and Fox are good enough to lead your team. The problem is George Hill is playing worse than both of them because he's only useful as a roleplayer, but to be fair he has gotten a little better from the start of the season so maybe he can retain some of his value.

This is like Wade saying after the Jimmy Butler trade he thought the Bulls were going to compete.
This is just PR speak initiated by agents to say "buy me out."

No doubt. Literally he's not even playing well enough to complain anyway. He's the most overpaid player on that team and one of the most in the league the way he looks and his age and money left. It's only fitting Utah offered him like 80 million and he turned it down and ends up in that situation making less. He really had them over a barrell when they were trying to keep Hayward there. Even what he's making now Sac couldn't move him with out throwing in goodies they don't even have.

Have to say it, I have a feeling if there is a "source" to this, his name starts with a D and ends with a Joerger.
The memo from day 1 from the Kings has been these guys were mentors. If they were convinced otherwise then they must have been living with their heads in the sand. Time to give the young guys all the minutes because they have a better shot making the playoffs with them than a twosome of Hill and Zbo.

Re: George Hill unhappy
Can't feel bad for the guy that signed the contract. He had other options that were for better teams but for less money and he took the money. I don't blame him, but I don't feel bad for him.
Same goes for Deng and Noah who are both buried on the bench and untradable because they signed unmovable deals.

To be fair, Hill said from the beginning that his decision to extend in Utah would depend on what Haywood would do. The way things worked out, I think Hill knew Haywood was on his way out, and thought he'd get a big offer from a team like SA. There were reports in Boston that Haywood was a done deal months before his "non-decision". Between that and a few other things that happened, I don't believe for a second that Hill didn't know Haywood was planning to leave.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

That's not what I've seen reported and talked about on various podcast. Either way he screwed up passing up 3 years 88 million reportedly from Utah and Utah was dumb to even offer it and dodge a huge bullet.
Seriously he's a 31 year old dude that's made like 45 million in his entire career and hes' going to pass up 3 or 88 with a team that would still likely have been projected for the playoffs to hunt for a max and he ends up in Sac for less. That's just complete malpractice for anyone advising him and not very good common sense on his part. These guys just saw what Conley and guys like Harrison Barnes got and couldn't swallow the fact that was a bubble that wasn't going to be there. Nerlans Noel too shafted himself big time.

Also I seriously don't blame a guy for taking the money ever, especially guys like Carter and Randolph. Actually I think players are stupid if they take significantly less just to winning a championship that really doesn't mean much of anything unless you are have a hall of fame resume and legacy/brand. All it does is gives Billionaires a tax break for someone like David West to walk away from whatever 10-25 million he has. Just don't start griping if you took that that above market contract on a team like Sac if you are Zach Randolph.

My thought exactly.
I realize I tend to assume Spurs players are savvy, and I've come to realize they really aren't. Every time I think "Hill painted himself into a corner", he responds with another brush stroke.

Re: George Hill unhappy
So far as I can tell it's only Hill that's confirmed unhappy, the others are just speculated.
And while I can sympathise being on a lottery team when you're 30...Hill had to have known that going in. Unless he honestly thought he, Carter and Randolph were the difference between playoffs and mid-lottery, in which case he's an idiot who should be cut before the rest of the team and fans can catch his stupid.

Kings should look to trade Hill to New York, sure a trade could be worked out to benefits both teams!

Someone should tell Hill that virtually every Kings fan is unhappy with the way he's been playing.

Exactly.
This is Hill now trying to take his money and go to a contender.

That's my read. He couldn't have possibly thought a cooked Zbo & Vince Carter were going to get that team to the playoffs. The problem is he's playing poorly & the line of teams who are going to want to pay him $20 million next season is going to be pretty short. Any team that takes him is going to want to send money back.
