George Hill picked money over winning. He doesn’t have anything to complain about.

The hyper-sensitivity of a few Kings fans made this an entertaining read.

And yes, Hill is a clown. He could have accepted a very generous offer to play for a good team in Utah, or he could have taken a paycut to play for a contender in San Antonio. He instead took the big money offer to play for a team that no sane person gave a chance to make the playoffs. He is well within his rights to take a big money deal to play for a dumpster fire franchise, but he isn't within his rights to then complain when the team proves to be a dumpster fire - particularly when he himself has been consistently underperforming.

No one was giving Hill the money he was after. Entered FA a year too late.

Sometimes in life we choose money over other things. Cash them checks because you know what you were getting into when you signed with the Kings.

Shoulda signed with Utah I guess.

I'm sorta confused about why he's whining considering he's sorta part of the reason they suck. Dude's only averaging like 9 points, 2 rebounds, and 2-3 assists a night.

they are right. if you play badly and complain about the environment, that means you are trying to fool them. being fooled would make everyone pissed off.

I was referring to the Sacto fans who are objecting to the Kings being called a 'dumpster fire'.

If I was a Sacto fan I would have nothing but contempt for George Hill.

LOL at anyone who buys this "scrappy vets to help a young team trash". That is called PR.

These guys signed there because this was the only team that offered such egregious contracts. Hill is worth 14 per year max...Randolph and Carter are vet mins guys. They paid the Kings tax (the inflated price you pay to bring players to a terrible team). Now they are using it as an excuse to get out of a bad situation and go to a contender.

Honestly, it might not work out too badly for the kings if they can turn Hill into an asset, but I doubt they will.

"The Sacramento Kings are what happens when you don't trust the process" pretty much sums it up perfectly.

Most around these parts (myself included) really rated their draft just gone but those FA signings were real head-scratchers.

Once I traveled to Egypt for a ski trip. It was still less dumb then signing with the Kings hoping for the playoffs.

I would say they are what happens when you draft poorly. Among other things, but that's the biggest thing.

How can he be unhappy when he signed a 3 year $57M contract, knowing he's going to be on a sad sack of a franchise?

This must be the home you're talking about:

A nursing home.

The guy is a zombie out there. 2 ppg on 32% for the season.

Well deserved, Mr Hill! :)
There are million reasons to be happy!

Serves him well, after leaving such a perfect situation he had in Utah

I would agree but I don't think their recent draft was too bad. Not a home-run but a pretty handy return on 4 picks.

They do seem a bit confused on strategy during games. Sometimes they look like a young team trying to get experience w/ winning not a priority, and sometimes they look like they are going all out to win w/ their vets (that recent game against the Pelicans for instance). Sometimses they seem to change their mind mid game depending on how things are going. It’s got be be confusing for the players.

Can’t believe Hills contract is that much for 3 years - they’ll never be able to trade that - especially if he keeps playing badly. He may be stuck there unless it gets so bad he has to work on a buyout. I think the other guys are only on one year contracts.

Did ZBo and Vince leave Memphis because of the money? I wonder if they had issues w/ Fizdale? Just seems weird they left...they were a good team last year.

I think so too, but it's gonna take more than one year of decent drafting to get out of the hole they are in. I thought they would be better this season than they I've been so far, but they are in a pretty impressively big hole, so.

If they want, I can take over their contracts and play bad ball.

Have you taken a look at the lineups featuring Hill, Randolph, and Temple? The way they've played together, they've given no reason not to play the kids. Rather a mystery as an outsider that not only is Buddy Hield not starting, he's not even getting 30+ mpg consistently.
