Those dwarfish gunners probably aren't going to take the team anywhere but they're kinda fun to watch.

I'm not much of a Marquette fan/follower anymore at this point, but I'd say chucking 3s and being really good at it is a good thing in college ball. I get that you want to have an inside game or at least guards that can get into the lane for certain situations, but the real problem appears to be the defense.

Rowsey and Howard are unconscionable gunners, but they can score enough not to be minuses. Cheatham is a gunner as well. Nevertheless, they should be passing off a bit more. Ignoring the inside game will cost Marquette down the line.
Interesting watching the last game several times Rowsey and Howard had wide open teammates i.e. Hauser, and either threw the ball away or launched a poor percentage three.
I guess Ryan-style ball is not something their coach desires.

Cheatham leaving for personal reasons.

Junior guard Haanif Cheatham is leaving the Marquette men's basketball team for personal reasons, according to a release from the school.

Cheatham started all five games for the Golden Eagles (3-2) this season, averaging 8.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

“We want to thank Haanif for his contributions to the program and wish him the best of luck as he looks to continue his career elsewhere,” MU head coach Steve Wojciechowski said in a statement.

The 6-foot-5 Cheatham, from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., was one of MU's most experienced players and also a versatile defender.

MU sophomore Sacar Anim will likely step into Cheatham's starting role. Cheatham's departure could also open up more playing time for freshmen Greg Elliott and Jamal Cain.

Cheatham was out for six weeks in the preseason with a shoulder injury but returned to action in the closed-door scrimmage with Northwestern. In the regular season, he shot 16 of 37 and was averaging 26.2 minutes per game.

He had started 63 of the 70 games in his time with the Golden Eagles.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Should've played this game at The AL, there is like no one there... students either.

Cheatham loss is tough. Hope all is well with his situation. Seems like something maybe going on.

In post game Wojo said it's a family issue and he's transferring to a school in Florida.

You implying something with Cheatam?

Does Howard have any pro prospects? A week ago I would've said hell no but this guy is on his way to shoot 50% from three with high volume two years in a row. I don't think anyone has done that before.

He's still only 5'11 at best and not a great distributor, terrible defender. Could maybe be a Yogi Ferrell or JJ Barea, but he's a 4 year player

His new added floater/finishing at the rim ability will definitely help get him closer though

Joey Hauser is going to miss the rest of his senior season after foot surgery. Hate to see that but better now than next year, I suppose. Ends up averaging 35 ppg this season. Mr Basketball locked up.

Dumb of someone as good as Hauser to have been playing football. That's how he originally hurt his ankle.

I don't think he played this year. This is still from the original football injury.

Couldnt a school (Like Marquette) strongly suggest he not play football? Even though I think the injury happened before he signed with anyone, which makes it even dumber to be playing a sport you won't get a scholarship in

Exactly. I knew a couple of basketball stars who quit football and played volleyball to stay in shape before hoops season. Hauser is a great player and it was a risk to play football and sure enough he ended up getting hurt. Hopefully he's 100% next fall.
