C'mon, it's a little early to throw that quote in his face. He isn't ready, but he is out there working his ass off. Pretty much the only wings immediately ready are those who are great shooters because that usually translates quickly.

Jackson should’ve worked on his 3pt shot this summer with Tatum and whoever worked with Tatum.

Tatum wasn’t a good 3pt shooter in college (even Jackson shot a better %) but busted his ass in the summer and is now one of the best 3pt shooters in the nba already and he’s even younger than Jackson.

Jackson right now plays a lot like Archie Goodwin but I still have hope for him to come through eventually.

I don't think anyone thought Jackson was really as good as a 3 pt shooter coming out of college despite the slightly better % because of the extremely small sample size and ft %. This was pretty well documented in darealjuice's prospect write ups. I don't think anyone thought JJ would be better on offense, or probably even close. But it was expected he'd be better on defense. The most surprising thing about Tatum is how well he is playing defensively.

I'm not ready to write Jackson off. But damn I'm very concerned right now. Simply put he's completely awful on offence in every way shape and form.

Really, the dude (Len) puts up the stats, but you watch him and just wonder why he isn’t more effective. He’s stiff, he’s awkward, has granite hands yet is a per36 stud. Another youngster caught in the wake of poor coaching/bad team?

Skal, Fox, WCS?

Fox was mostly invisible on offense (which is okay for this stage of his development). Skal is okay, though I do prefer Chriss. But WCS was awful out there.

Worth noting that we were without a pretty notable 21 YO, and one of their recent draft picks doesn't get any burn (Papa G). When you factor in that Bogdanovic is a UFA in three years, that they are out a draft pick in 2019 (and have no other teams' firsts), you can't help but think that their rebuild is off to a false start. If I were them, I'd be doing anything I could to convert Hill into another pick.

They have so many prospects at each position though I don't know how many more picks they need. Fox, Hield, Justin Jackson, Bogdanovic, Skal, Harry Giles, WCS, Papa, and another mid to high lotto pick coming. I doubt they'd get a first for Hill anyway....that's not a real reasonable contract.

You don't need to come into game threads on conclusion to make posts to rile up users. Everyone knows you want to lose. It's fairly obvious your intent when you come into game threads if you haven't participated to make such comments as this or "Great loss!"

There are obviously many others who feel the way you do but they don't rush into game threads at the end of every game thread to rub it in.

I'm rooting how I want to root in the way I see as the best path forward to the team. I should be able to do that however the hell I want, and I often post early in game threads, not just after we lose. But no, I won't be avoiding game threads just because certain people aren't happy that I choose to root for a loss rather than a win given the current state of the team.

We are all rooting how we want to root obviously. I'm just saying not to come off as trolling. I think you are smart enough to determine if you may come off that way.

He's actually been solid overall for about 2 years, but this board will keep insisting he's a bust until he retires after a 10 year career.

Yep ... because teams were beating down the door to sign Len this summer ... can you say qualifying offer. :

He was an RFA. In a summer where bigs were getting 0 deals and Centers are incredibly expendable. Why would a team sign him to a low ball deal, which is what he would get on the open market last season when we would simply match it? The same thing happened to Noel, who is not worth the max that he wants but was forced into signing the QO and will be playing in the league for as long as he's healthy.

He doesn't have a feel for the game, he isn't fundamentally sound player.

He is an OK backup C. If your team has someone like DeAndre or Gobert starting at C, he is good enough to play around 15 mpg playing hard for all those minutes on the court.

But you can not relay on him on a nightly basis. He is good for an small role, not more than that IMO.

:eyebrows:

Jimmy Butler comes to mind. A ton of guys actually. The odds of Jackson being a complete bust are low. To jump to the bust label any time a player plays bad is lazy and misinformed.

Yep a ton of players come to mind ... Anthony Bennett, Michael Beasley, Adam Morrison, Kwame Brown, Sam Bowie, Darko, Robert Swift, Danny Ferry, Joe Alexander, Alex Len, Todd Fuller, Eddy Curry, Jan Vesley, Jared Jefferies, Shawn Bradley, Johnathan Bender, Michael Olokawandi, Darius Miles :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

The list of top 10 pick failures goes on and on and on. See in my mind Jackson has next year to improve his shooting stroke because you can't have a SG/SF hitting only .551 on his free throws. A guy with those free throw numbers just can't stick around in the league unless he is a big man who can rebound and defend.

See what I mean ... they just don't stick around ... http://bkref.com/tiny/5Kk1H

Jackson does have to improve his shot. He can create an open shot one on one which is a good thing. He is able to score with a multitude of shots at the hoop and draw fouls; all good things, but that FT shooting and overall shooting as to improve otherwise......Also, he attacks the basket well. He is much better than Archie and it isn’t close. Not even close to wanting another player over Jackson YET, he has until the end of next year for me.

I am always happy about a loss, but I never root against us when we play. That’s sick! Also, it’s impossible if you want to see the players get better. And, if I rooted for losses, I would love Mike James instead of hate his play. I even loathe his freckles face when the show it close up!
