Franks defense is so ridiculously good. wow. His understanding of the game is just next level. He doesnt even really force it either. He just puts his man under super tight coverage and waits for them to slip up. He picks the pocket rather than the usual frenzy or arms that most players deploy when on D. I would say 90% of his steals are as clean as can be.

He knows how to use his length. He plays his man close but manages to always be on the edge of a passing lane. With him and KP on the floor you can basically take cross court passes off the table for the opposing offense.

I honestly think he's an off season, maybe even just more NBA practice, away from having a pure jump shot. I dont really see how hes any more than a few minor adjustments away from being a lights out midrange pull up jump shooter with his size. His percentages arent there yet but I see him developing a very efficient offensive game to go along with his already elite defense.

This is where I'm at as well. I think randle is talented but has serious flaws that he's in danger of getting past the point of being coached out of him. That price is good and eventually we're going to have to make a decision on KOQ/Billy. If the return on that decision is Randle then I'd be fine with it. He's intriguing and in theory a nice fit next to KP if you plan on playing KP at C. But then again who isn't a good fit next to him at this point...

Don't see why you'd want Randle over Kanter. I'd trade Willy+filler for KCP though (said it in another thread).

#1 thing he should be working on this summer...I would kidnap his countryman tony parker and get the parker floater and Frank will be insane!

I figure these two things would elevate his game big time, without even improving anything else:

A floater
Using his hesitation dribble to get into the lane for the bunny jumper

Just those two things alone, along with what should be reliable set 3 point shooting or 3 point shooting off the P&R, and with his defense that's a damn good PG.

If he were to do all that and get stronger and clean up his layups, that's an all star

1) tighten the handle
2) add a floater
3) get physical stronger/more explosive

all those things are very attainable for frank because he has the work ethic to tighten his handle, he already has a soft feathery touch around the basket to obtain a floater, and he has the frame to add weight/muscle that will make him more physical and explosive.

That with his defense, passing ability, and outside shot which he already has...my man he will be so dynamic with that length at the guard position.

kid gonna be a problem. as i always say, the things he needs to improve upon are very attainable. he's 19. doesn't even have his man body yet. i think he can giannis that, man.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

Nee has improved on defense and that's not our problem. Our problem is more about our perimeter/3-pt defense. Besides, Frank has that part covered. :D

yeah he improved but randle blows him out the water in defense

randle can switch on anyone in this league. mfer forced steph to shoot airballs   go read the article, it's some good stuff. you will see why i think he would be great next to KP.

I read the article. Excellent read, but unless you're moving KP to center I still don't trade Kanter, who is a center, for Randle who is a PF.

Acquiring him isn't the concern.

The concern is if you want to pay him $16M+ next season and beyond.

 Jeff's been bringing Frank along at the right pace. He's done a great job with Frank.

I mean, I can't disagree with that. But there's been several moments in games where Frank's hot or Frank is moving the offense along well and then Hornacek subs in Jack and we lose all momentum. That's not really the right pace.

his versatility on defense is why. i don't see a need for KCP when we have timmy though

KCP is expiring, so it doesn't really matter. Let him take Lance's mins, trade Lee, or buy him out.

I can't seem to recall another game where Frank was "hot" and Jeff took him out. I'll concede that Jeff probably erred on the side of caution. That said, I really don't have a problem with the way it's gone. It's still only 2 months into the season.

Neither can I, really.

When Frank is going, he usually gets extended time.

The only times I've seen Frank get pulled when he's got some momentum is when he picks up 3 fouls in a quarter, which has happened a few times.
