Jersey Generals wrote:Luke Theory: No spoilers, just discussion from the The Last Jedi posters.

Spoiler:
With the way the posters keep dividing him, with him being on the dark side poster and the light with Rey, I think the Last Jedi is going to show that has a split-personality or something similar that, unfortunately, has taken shape into Snoke. Whether Snoke is a literal manifestation of his dark side or simply absorbed his dark side influence, I don't know, but I think he's hounded by an uncontrollable thing inside of him. He's on Ahch-To to learn how to control it by researching the original Jedi practices.

That, or he's going to be a tremendous pussy that Rey is twice as powerful as.

Spoiler:
The posters serves both as a lure/sell and a foreshadow. Now which do I believe? We're being pulled to see Rey as light and Luke as fallen. Unlike Yoda, perhaps Luke feels more despair after losing to the new order. He seeked something out there, came to a realization, lost faith? thus the declaration of no more Jedi. No more Sith. One with the force? to be both?

Did Luke commit a jedi sin? Did he fall and hid from the galaxy? Did overestimate his power?

Snoke is more afraid of Luke rebuilding the new Jedi. Why? lose control? shift the balance?

Spoiler:
I wouldn't mind a clone of Sidious, but I would give a thumbs down in how they did it. Snoke just seems way too different to be Sidious. So while I would have been fine with a clone if Snoke was more like Sidious in The Force Awakens, but to say he's a clone now I wouldn't enjoy. However, if we want to connect him to Sidious, I think they should just make Snoke Plagueis and be done with it. As for how he came to power, I wish they would have given him the plans to the Star Forge, which is how Snoke got all the power: he was able to rearm the First Order in a quicker manner.

Spoiler:
yea i wouldn't want them to go that path either. That's more for a tv show/spinoff plot. Say no to Clones. I heard the Plagueis theories from the jump(as we all), Idk if i'd want that, I think at this point I'm happy or fine with Snoke being a new character completely. But he needs a tie in for sure due to the circumstances. A sith vampire or one of Palpatine's hands...
something. If he goes back as far as to the old republic, color me iffy.

Spoiler:
I did. The Force Tree in that instance was from the Jedi Temple and given to them by Luke, which presumably would be different than the Force Tree I mentioned. It's one of the reasons I really think the Force Tree is going to play a big part, they keep throwing it out in small places that I just feel they will bring it back in a bigger way.

Spoiler:
I agree. the trailers themselves depict a tree, even if it just serves to hold something of historical relics. Maybe this tree gave certain people more connections(midoclorians lol) to the force than others.

Conversation about spoilers from one of the Last Jedi trailers below. There are no spoilers in regards to what happens, just theories based on the trailer.

Spoiler:
Definitely not predictable. I guess The Last Jedi could end with Rey joining Snoke without her going entirely to the darkside, I just don't see her being evil for very long because all the little girls that Disney clearly want to look up to her.

Additionally, I think Snoke has been calling out to her for a while. In one of the trailers, Rey says "light, darkness, and something else." I think that something else is Snoke. Her awakening wasn't the force awakening in side of her, as she says "there was always something inside of me, now it's awake", I think it's her realization that she is a reincarnation and now that she is awake, Snoke is more connected to her because she is the reincarnation of his twin sister. That is why I would love for Rey's mother to have been Kyra Ren and killed by Kylo, would give her an even more deep connection to Snoke. But yeah, that "and something else" is Snoke calling out to her.

Spoiler:
She sees something, she feels it. After her climax with the lightsaber at Maz, I thought she shared a Skywalker bloodline but now I'm not sure anymore. I'll be more disappointed than upset if thats the case. Who's Kyra Ren? do I want to know?

Spoiler:
I don't think she's a Skywalker anymore. Even though I wish she was. As for Kyra Ren, no, you don't know her. She's the character that I made up in my "what I want to happen" Rey theory. Kyra was the original name of Rey before they changed it, so I just gave it to her mother, who is a Mara Jade expy. In my version, Kyra Ren was the Knights of Ren name of Rey's mother, who was a Force sensitive wife of Luke, who after being called out by Snoke and tempted to the Dark Side, left Luke, dropped Rey off on Jakku and entered the Unknown Regions of Space to become leader of the Knights of Ren. She was then killed years later by Kylo Ren after he fell and destroyed the Jedi Academy. It's a "how I would do it" theory.

The Last Jedi discussion below, no spoilers, just opinions from someone reading a review of it.

Spoiler:
It sounds like the movie sucks as a Star Wars movie, but is good as a movie as a whole. And apparently like I mentioned earlier, they had no direction on how the trilogy would unfold when they started filming the Force Awakens so it feels disjointed. Shame.

Responding to first spoiler, not gonna do the 2nd cuz I'm legit trying to avoid "anything" as much as possible lol
Spoiler:
i heard mix too,not empire strikes back greatest... still doesnt concern me

response to first spoiler Star Wars:
Spoiler:
Phew, thought I missed another one out there haha. Initially as you, similar to Mara Jade in the EU, I was thinking along the lines of Luke carrying a child but hiding it from the Jedi order, but now my question dawns on me again, what's the age difference between Rey and Ben? If anything what if its Ben who is Luke's real child but Leia and Han adopted him? Was it you who spoke of that?

Anyways, would luv to have a connection as deep as possible to Kylo Ren and Rey, something is there. I would like to know more about the Knights of Ren and who was Ren, rather the first Ren? Was it Snoke? Snoke's sister? a force lineage? Ren a rival to Skywalker?

What if, Leia bared another child? without Han knowing? Did Leia leave her on Jakku? Why wouldn't Han know? unless Leia was concieved by the force similar to her real father? Did Han knew all along but kept it from Ben and Luke?

I think the age discrepancy answers a lot between Rey and Kylo Ren. It "seems" that Kylo betrayed the new Jedi as an adult. where was Rey in all that? a child? or teen? etc... Cause if there is a drop in age, why was she hidden on Jakku?

ORRRRRRRRRR (sorry lol) she WAS hidden on Jakku from the first order by her mother( to be named if material). Her force ability proved dangerous and the First Order seeked it out? Perhaps force sensitive mothers were gathered/captured to take their newborns? One escaped and landed on Jakku? Thus leading Snoke to seduce Ben Solo instead? perhaps answering why there are "other knights" questions if any.

Spoiler:
Yeah, that was me who came up with that. if I was re-writing it from the start, it's the twist that I think would make sense, while also being something that wouldn't be able to be seen coming. I would have loved that reveal:

Kylo: "I killed my father, I am now more powerful than Darth Vader ever was."
Luke: "No, you didn't, I am your father."

Almost exactly the same as the Empire Strikes Back one, but with the hero revealing it. It's like poetry, it rhymes.

Spoiler:
Ren was a wise, but ambitious dark side user that first came under Snoke's tutelage after killing his old master, Stimpy. No idea, but I hope Rey and Kylo have some form of connection, making his "what girl?" freakout in the Force Awakens make sense.

I'm starting to fear that she may just be a nobody. I would love her mother to have been a Knight of Ren before Kylo, and with her death by Kylo, Kylo took over, but I'm fearing that she is just simply a girl from Jakku that was born a freak reincarnation of someone from thousands of years ago and nothing more.

When are you going to see it? I'm probably going to be the last to see it, I might wait a bit so I can see it without screaming idiots sitting next to me like I did with The Force Awakens.

I'm seeing it either Sunday or Monday, on days where there won't be a lot of Star Wars bros.

Actually like the idea of women or mothers to be being kidnapped or lured into the First Order for force sensitive newborns. Interesting turn there. Rey's and Kylo's age, its the key here IMO.

Disney just brought Fox Studios (not Fox News(ugh) and Fox Sports) today, 54 billion dollar deal or something.

Anyway, this means that The X-Men and Fantastic Four will be appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future. Not sure when but it looks like Avengers 4 will pave the way for what comes next. Some people are pissed because Disney now has a huge monopoly over a lot of properties (like Avatar, The Simpsons, etc).

I really don't care since I don't own any of that, and FOX has mishandled X-Men for the last decade plus, outside of Days of Future Past, Logan, and Deadpool those movies have sucked balls. I just want to see The X-Men and Fantastic 4 done the right way. Phases 4 and 5 of the MCU will be insane, you know Dr. Doom & Galactus are coming. Too bad this didn't happen earlier since they're probably going to retire the original Avengers after part 4(I've heard that they might keep the Thor series going though, Ragnarok was too good not to have a follow up).

Jesus dude, I'm so sorry man. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask. I've been there recently with my mom, but it was expected after her grim diagnosis, even if her steep decline happened months before the doctors predicted. It's rough, it really is. But yours was out of nowhere so I can't imagine what you're thinking and feeling right now. I'm sorry again JG, you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace.

I loved the Last Jedi. I don't know why the fanboys are so butthurt about it.

Some of the scenes were visually stunning, like works of art. Especially

Spoiler:
-Luke's shadow clone standing off against Kylo Ren, that looked so bad ass

-Rey and the mirror scene.

-Rey lifting the rocks.

they took some chances with this film and I'm not sure what to expect from the 3rd installment. I definitely believe that

Spoiler:
some time will pass in between the last jedi and Chapter 9. Rey is going to have to find more people with abilities like hers.

and lol @ Rey's parents being nobodies. I nearly busted out laughing at that line, after all the speculation her parents were simply just two pieces of **** who sold their child off.

Thanks, everyone. It's been tough. Like tonight, I had to put together my niece's Christmas gift for my mom because my dad is gone and he was going to do it. It's the little things that you don't realize that you'll miss the most.

I haven't seen it yet. Won't be seeing it for at least a week. And I haven't read your spoilers. But with that being said, if what I hear IS true, then yeah, I can understand why fans would be mad. I still have hopes for it to be a good movie, so I'm going to see it, but I do hope that this is getting blown out of proportion and I'll agree with you that there's no reason for people to be angry.

Finally saw it, it really is a great film. For me anyway, definitely top 3 out of the whole franchise. Loved how unpredictable it was and didn’t follow the same cliches. Not really bothered to go into too much detail but the story was well written and everything was very well done imo

Well, to be honest, that's kind of the point of why some people are mad. Disney said in 2012 that everything would be cannon, so us fans went out bought the comics, purchased the books, invested ourselves in all this extra literature and media only for the movie to piss all over the lore and make those actions be an incredible waste of time/money. It was unpredictability to the point of being unpredictable for unpredictability sake; subversive of tropes and cliches just to be subversive. There was literally no way for any fan to be able to theorize because everything was meaningless before this movie, which they said wouldn't be true.

Like I said, I haven't seen it so I don't want spoilers, but I do know why some fans are unhappy. For fans that went out of their way to invest themselves in this new cannon, they feel like it's a slap in the face. It would be like if Goku went to the ToP and was one-shotted by Yamcha, who revealed himself to be the actual most powerful fighter of Universe 2, where he actually lived in for most of his life before coming to Universe 7 in order to befriend a cat-looking thing from planet Earth on vacation. It's like, wait...what? And that doesn't sit well with people who know the lore backwards and front. Things do and should change, absolutely, but not at the expense of pissing all over the lore that has been established for 40 years.

(not arguing whether the movie is good or not, just making conversation)
