George Hill hasn't earned the right to be NBA happy. I like him, but he's still very much in the "just do your job" tier. He's being paid more than enough.

This must be the home you're talking about:

A nursing home.

The guy is a zombie out there. 2 ppg on 32% for the season.

taj2133 wrote:Here’s the issue. The Kings brought in Hill, Zach Randolph and Vince Carter during the offseason and still have Garrett Temple on the roster. These are respected vets who can play. These are vets brought in to help a young team, and according to sources, were brought in with the promise of a team aiming to be playoff competitive. But that promise was made to them by Scott Perry, who since left Sacramento and now makes personnel decisions for the New York Knicks. So the direction of the franchise has shifted since Perry left. An organization that brought in veterans aiming to win now is aiming to lose. Not surprisingly, Hill isn’t happy, according to multiple sources And the other veterans can’t be too happy, either. So the Kings have a mess on their hands. I’ve always liked Hill’s game, but when he signed in Sacramento, I questioned the prudence of the Kings bringing him on board when they just drafted De’Aaron Fox, the quicksilver point guard from Kentucky. – via Salt Lake Tribune

this is a load of crap

The veterans didn’t come here for a playoff push  and they knew that. They came here to help guys develop and they look just fine

Just because we aren’t tanking, people think we’re pushing for the playoffs? This whole “the kings are a mess” narrative is very 3 years ago. Move on

He should have taken whatever offer San Antonio or Utah was giving him but his idiotic agent convinced him that he was worth $28-32m a year lol

This is why i wish the NBA didnt have fully guaranteed contracts. A guy can say all the right things "mentor the young guys, veteran leadership, etc" and take the money then go there and pout and hold the franchise for ransom with crappy, disinterested play.

Seriously, how are the kings even supposed to move him when he's playing this poorly?

It's also why I think you should build with young guys and bring in guys on 1 year deals to mentor the noobs. Philly got this part correct.

Everyone kept talking about their "losing culture"... no they had a culture full of guys who were just happy to be in the NBA fulfilling their dream and cashing checks that are a lot bigger than what their friends and family make.... with the opportunity to chase a HUGE payday if they kept focus and worked hard.

A losing culture is getting a bunch of delusional vets who don't realize they aren't good enough to lead a team.

Its the new NBA... go to where you can get paid the most and then complain your way out to where you want to be.

So many posters bashing Zach and Vince in this thread, while they are nothing but consummate pros for Sacramento...

Regarding George Hill, lets's just say last couple of months revealed a lot about this guy character, I'm extremly disappointed with him.

Utah was offering more if I remember correctly. He thought he could fetch more, and I'm guessing he was embarrass to go running back to Utah or Utah took the offer off the table.

You guys should trade him for KAT, he's not as good as Embiid so the TWolves may as well get some value for him now.

As opposed to the mighty post-Hayward Jazz and living in Utah?

The money was better, but that’s all I see as the heavy advantage

FWIW after last nights game George Hill revealed he missed the previous game due to a death in the family. Connecting the dots this would also explain his emoji tweet which at the time he said was tweeted because of news from home.

Maybe he's just going through it at the moment.

Screw sources. Listen to VC, Zach, and George tell the media what they were promised. Teach the young guys how to win, be mentors, and build a winning culture.
