Yep, this is probably how I see it as well. Jordan is #1, but I'd honestly pick LeBron over MJ when starting a team or frachise.

Because he couldn't make it to them 7 times?

You do realize he could have won more rings if he didn't retire after winning the championship in 98? If Lebron wants to be crowned GOAT he has to win more than 3 rings.

I don't see it. MJ with no Rodman or Pippen? So MJ and Toni?

I guess Bill Russell is the goat if we're counting rings...

Jordan fans love to count rings until people throw names out like Bill Russell then they back off.

I still have MJ #1, but that said, I really get sick of the dumb arguments that side makes. LeBron being 3-4 in the Finals isn't a reason to knock him. Just like West being 1-8 isn't a reason to knock him. Teams win championships, not individuals. What LeBron being 3-4 tells me is that if I have him on my team, I've got a shot virtually every year. Not that LeBron is somehow deficient.

While I'd disagree at the moment, someone having LeBron over Jordan is perfectly reasonable. It's not ridiculous. Just like it's not ridiculous to have Kareem over Michael.

I like when people actually compare Jordan and LeBron as players without all the nonsense. It's a fun comparison as long as those involved don't have such a heavy dog in the fight.

It's more than just rings; we're talking skill, competition, era. What good is leading your team to the NBA finals if you don't win?

Are we really gonna crown Lebron GOAT with 3 rings under his belt on 2 teams? Jordan had 2 three-peats in one decade, you can't tell me Lebron's achievement is better than that.

You do realize that Jordan quitting is a negative right? Never had the mental fortitude to withstand the NBA grind like LeBron can.

Because Lebron never quit on his team and joined Miami? Or quit on Miami after they lost and joined the Cavs? FOH

Being the better player and being the better winner is two different debates. There's a thin line, but there is one.

Jordan is the better winner. 6/6 in the finals. Impressive. Amazing scorer.

But like how Scottie pointed out, Lebron just does more on the court. He's more all around. He's a better all around player which defines being the better player. You can be an amazing all around player but not win as many rings as the next guy, as in Jordan.

Kobe has more rings than Lebron, and Kobe is not better. Lebron has surpassed Kobe in almost every category imaginable and he will soon pass him in scoring too. Lebron is a complete player.

To me the crux of the argument is I'd rather have Jordan for one must-win series, but if I'm starting a team from scratch I'd take LeBron.

I hate that they don't even have the decency to let Scottie fully talk. They're japping at him like he's some fan who's never seen MJ in his prime. Makes me sick.

731-358
706-366

Looks to win about the same regular season. I'd be shocked if playoff data didn't look about the same.

LeBron doesn't belong in the same sentence as Jordan. You should know that as a Bulls fan or maybe you're too young to remember MJ. LeBron is a better scoring version of Pippen with the offense revolved around him. Just imagine the stats MJ would put up in today's era. Scottie said it himself - he would kill in today's era even more than he did back then.

Statistically Westbrook is the best point guard in the league.. Does that mean he's the best PG though? He fills up the stat sheet more than any other guard.

I hate that the Finals argument is the only thing people who favor MJ put on the table nowadays. Are you better off losing in the first round than in the Finals simply because it keeps your record "clean"?

There are plenty of reasons to argue Jordan over LeBron, and I have Jordan ahead myself, but enough with this BS.

Sure. I have no problem with that statement. Kidd is one of the greatest PGs of all time.

There is no scientific proof of who's the 'GOAT'.In fact there's no subjective definition of what is a GOAT.Since we live in democracy most people's opinion matters a lot.Ten years from now it's possible that Lebron will be considered from the majority as the GOAT,(that's how time and life works consider Wilt) while a new player whose name we might don't know yet, will claim this 'title'.I am a huge Lebron's fan but i swear i won't act like my life depends on it, it is absolutely ridiculous. We're fans of the game with our individual preferences to everything.

That said I've watched them both and IMO Lebron James is the best player to ever play the game.I have the right to believe so and that's more than enough.I can debate it,cause i find it intruiging but no clown acting like Stephen A Smith will change my opinion
