Yup. Boston is overrated. Once Irving’s body gives out, peace.

Yeah generally when your best player gets hurt your team will fall apart. And if this happens to Kyrie, the Celtics would actually lose their 2 best players

Yes, more needless stirring of the pot between two fan bases who have never met in the PO.

"Fluke" lol? Stop hating. The Raptors are 18-8. Raptors and Rockets split the season series every year. Don't be disrespectful.

Watch your mouth when you quote me boy. Nobody cares about your fluke, again, against a team missing a guy who is better than anyone on your roster. Move along the raptors are a poor mans hawks from a handful of seasons ago. By their second playoff game lawry and demar are going to be crying to the media about how they suck just like every year

RealGM enjoys the Cold War between TOR & BOS too much.

Borderline baiting.

The thread wasnt even started by a Raps fan but everyone assumed it was.

The problem with this thread is the fact that people don't even think that the Raps being the 2nd team in the East is even 'Debatable". Im not saying you have to agree with the fact. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but the fact that some people dont even think the Raps should even be in the Conversation given their start to the season, is truly remarkable.

Sooo people think the Celtics are clearly better? Ooook, what's the big deal? They got to the ECF last season as the #1 seed, took a game from the Cavs in Cleveland without IT, and followed that up with a 24-6 start (.800) through 30 games without Hayward. Seems like a compelling case to me...

And on top of that, that'd make the Raptors a top 3 team in the East. Raptors fans are really up in arms about that now 2 weeks before Christmas??

Toronto fans will think Raptors are the 2nd best team,
Boston fans will think Celtics are the 2nd best team or the best team.
Other fans will have divided opinions.
Boston and Toronto are on the same tier and I think it's pure ignorance to some of these people who argue the Pacers/Pistons are better.
I feel Boston's the better team but it's a very slight gap, not as massive as some people may believe.

Are we talking a slight gap with Kyrie or a slight gap with Kyrie and Hayward? There’s a difference there. The first one I could see your point. The second one not so much.

The Celts have been awesome this season, but it makes no sense to talk about last season's post-season run when most of the team isn't the same. Plus, at this point in the East, getting to the ECF is more about avoiding the Cavs in the 2nd round vs. a real achievement. Last year's Celts won a close game but got blown out worse than the Raptors the other times. Hard to say which team was really better.

There's a good case this years Celts are better than the Raptors (the w/o Hayward version) - but last years success has no connection.

Let's just give it to them.

They take pride on being 2nd best in the East anyway. Congrats for being 2nd.

Cavs, Boston then Raps

Edit: Maybe with both teams at there best (currently without Hayward) the Raps are better than the Celtics, but Lowry isn't consistent anymore. I'm no longer surprised seeing him go 3/12 in games, and vs great defences it can't just be Derozan or relying on our bench to score

I think Boston clearly takes the edge here, but I don't get what's so great about a pissing contest between fans for 2nd place.

A Toronto-Boston playoff series would probably drop the RealGM community population down 30% with all the bans.

I think the Raps could win 60 games.

Push comes to shove, I just don't see Derozon/Lowry defeating Wall/Beal in the playoffs. Maybe it's from my memory of the Wizards sweeping them, but Beal has been better then Derozon in the playoffs his whole career, and Wall was better in last years playoffs then Lowry has ever been.

That's just the Wizards. Now you go to the Cavs and Boston. I don't see them beating them either. Playoff Irving is better then both Derozon and Lowry, and Lebron basically mentally owns them.

I could be wrong. We'll see cone playoff time.
