Need to treat the supporting cast like teams have done with lebron. Find the 3 pts shooters for ben and jo and this team will get real interesting.

Covington and Saric have both been getting a ton of open looks. I mentioned it before, but Covington gets more open looks now than he was when he was making them.

Last night was the most significant day in Embiid's tenure as a Sixer. Showed he could handle a 48 minute workload. I was always worried about a career-long mins restrictions and being in a playoff game that goes to OT and having to sit him. Showed he could handle it and not only handle it, but dominate in those late minutes where he was most tired.

People were upset today about it. I just don't get some fans. They're upset about Embiid's mins, but not upset about the loss. I'm the opposite. Love that Embiid got the minutes, it was the most important day of our rebuild to date.

Playing that much in a triple overtime game is very different than playing like 42 in a regulation game. There were like 12 stoppages in the last 17 minutes of play. We'll see how he feels but I'm not particularly concerned. Clearly he will sit out one of the back to backs coming up.

And if he is playing too many minutes, that's the medical staffs call, not the coach.

Well, people were trashing the Sixers on social media last night and Spike Eskin ripped them in their pod today. Calling it reckless, etc.

Tbh I don't think anyone knows what type of minutes Embiid can handle. Not me, you or anyone else. But fans have been so conditioned to seeing him with mins restrictions that they assume if he dips into the 40's that he'll just fall apart. Sooner or later I hope that preconception dies out.

Honestly the number one thing Embiid needs to work on is his 3PT shooting especially if we are going to run the offense through him with. The other thing he needs to do is polish his footwork in the post. Get rid of that faceup J and work on a spin move

I think that what Embiid needs to do is simply stay healthy. He should do whatever he has been doing so he can continue the ridiculous ascendency into superstardom that he has been on for the last 5 years.

He is still raw and inexperienced and he is careless at times, but he is a stone cold franchise player in the nba, and he is in the middle of a rapid growth in his game. He is elite in virtually every indicator of talent in basketball.

He just needs to stay healthy and he is going to be one of the very best players in the world, if not the best. Looks at how much smarter he plays this year compared to last year. Look at the growth in his poise, and his passing.

He’s a leader, and obviously an elite rebounder, defender and low post scorer.

Even if he shot 50% from 3 he shouldn’t be taking more than 2-3 of them. He needs to continue to do exactly what he is currently doing.

Secondly, he taunted Steven Adams. He's lucky he didn't get called for a technical. And
Westbrook was right to call him on it.

I'm getting sick of his childish crap too.

I just don't think he understood that he was showing somebody up. Hopefully somebody
will explain the difference between getting the crowd into the game and embarrassing
a worthy rival. Adams usually plays him tough.

I would agree with you if he didn’t have a record of doing this humorously, and without malice.

He talks smack, but doesn’t do it in a mean spirited way. If what he did last night crossed a line and the other team felt that it was classless, then I agree with you that he should tone it down.

I think that he is just trash talking though and that has always been a great part of the nba.

I love trash talking, and which more players did it:

Westbrook is an insufferable spaz

Who cares if he got upset?

People are upset over the trash talking, I don't understand why. Embiid is polarizing, he's making the players around believe and he's telling the rest of the league that we are not to be ****** with. The game is competition, it shouldn't be all love and hugs until after the fight is over. Melo got mad because Embiid yelled "And1". That's a stupid reason to get upset and Melo's ego couldn't take it. This is Philly vrs Everybody and that should be the mentality. We have suffered losing for years now and we're finally fighting back. We finally have a bully on our team once again and people don't like it? Screw that, Embiid is outspoken, you're either going to love him or hate him the same way it was with Barkley and then Iverson. The only concern I have with JoJo is keeping him healthy, because if he can stay healthy, we are going to have a chance to beat anybody on any night! I thought that's what we wanted? If he's talking trash so be it. Dude is backing it up and it's creating a buzz. We are gaining notoriety, along with a bandwagon fan base. We're getting nationally televised games now! Trust the process. He's saying "either respect us or we'll make you respect us"!

Exactly! He was doing his fair share of BS too. Shaking his head like an idiot every time he hit a shot. Melo just has an ego and didn't like when JoJo punished him in the low post. On top of that, Embiid is right. "What exactly are ya gonna do"? He's a bully and a badass in a league that has gotten soft over the years. I just hope he stays healthy because that's the only angle haters can use against him in all of this.

OKC's team construction is the embodiment of a casual fan's 2k trading.

Still need a guy who can create his own shot. I thought that'd be Fultz but I'm worried about him now too.

Embiid officially not playing tomorrow against bulls. More of a formality than anything else.

Back injuries are very tricky. Especially with embiid history. Rest is prescribed usual treatment. But for how long?

He had back injury at Kansas. Was out for about a week. Came back and re injured himself with diagnosed stress fracture.

Would like embiid to rest for a bit.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he sits both games, we know the medical staff is very cautious.

Back tightness implies that this is a soft tissue injury, which isn’t so scary. Rest is probably all that he needs, but if he keeps aggravating it in games, we might want to sit him for several games in a row.

When facetiousness turns to reality. Joel Embiid really is out until Christmas.

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, sidelined with a sore back, could miss two more games this week but is expected to return for the Christmas Day meeting with New York, league sources told ESPN.

Despite the likelihood of resting his back for the remainder of the week, there's optimism that Embiid will be fit to face the Knicks on Monday, league sources said.
