He is 110% correct. It's like we've all collectively forgotten that this team was supposed to be a top two or three team in the West. this performance is pathetic and appalling. And whether Melo is advanced in age and not the player he once was or Russ is somewhat injured or not, they should be better than this, they should be more consistent then this, their offense shouldn't look this disjointed especially by this point in the season.
You either have to concede that this whole thing has been a massive turd and blow it up, or hold this team accountable. 35 % into the season and we're still below .500, yet barebly beating G-League squads is supposed to be 'good.'.
Over the last 9 games, our NetRtG is -2.8. If you dismiss the losses to the Knicks and the Hornets, we're looking at a total raw +/- of +16 over 7 games. That's - on average - roughly one field goal per game which makes the difference in those games. We went 6-1, yet with those slim margins, this could easily have been 4-5 or even worse. Yet we are told to pretend that things are coming around for us. They're not.
Offensively, we've bene hovering at 102-103 ORtG as a team which is good for being a bottom 5 offense. Over the last month and a half, we're 27th in ORtG. Defensively, we've hovered around 100-101 pp100p allowed, which is excellent. Yet if that gives just by 1 or 2 pp100p, we will be in a lot more trouble. All season long, we have been unable to match good offensive performances by opposing teams. We've allowed > 105 DRtG 12x and are 2-10 in those games. 2 seasons ago, we allowed > 105 pp100p 32x and won 17 of those games. Relatively to the talent on the roster, we are the worst offense in the league, period. And I don't see that suddenly changing. The team has been talking about it for weeks, yet the performance on the floor has always been the same.
