At least one even averaged more, like this guy, at 26 and 12 https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/michael-beasley-1.html

Beasley is a helpful reminder that a hatched egg can't always be counted as a chicken.

I don't really consider Beasley a big. He was always a tweener, just like derrick williams.

If we lower the points to 20, Ayton is now part of the conversation, 2 in one year.

Trae Young with 21 points 7 assists 4 rebounds with 0 turnovers in the first half against #3 Wichita State. Kid can seriously play, makes sense why Self wanted him in Lawrence so bad.

Impressive win for Trae Young and the Sooners to go into Wichita State and come out with a win. It wasn't the best second half for Trae in terms of shooting and turnovers, but a lot of those turnovers stemmed from having double teams thrown at him because he was killing them all game. Really like the way he pushes the pace and takes control of the team; he probably pounds the ball a bit much but I think that's partly because he has been dragging that team to wins and has 28+ points in each of the the last 7 games. Still have questions about him, but I will say Young and Book together in the backcourt could put points up in a hurry.

Would you rather have Young or Donic? Personally I think young is going to jump into the top 4-7.

It's gotta be Doncic right now pretty easily. Young has been extremely impressive, if he continues this 29/9 on 64 TS% thing all year and keeps carrying Oklahoma once they playing better competition then it's really hard to see him not being a top 7 pick, but Doncic looked great this Summer against NBA players and has had a very good year against ACB and Euroleague talent with an increased role for Real Madrid. He's the guy to beat in my opinion.

What's the connection with Trae Young and Williams / Booker?

Thing I most like about Young is that he's averaging more assists than Lonzo Ball in college 8.8 vs 7.5.

But if he keeps his numbers up he's going to be in between our picks probably in the 7-12 range.

I was trying to figure out why that summer league picture was suddenly posted, but didn't realize that was Trae Young, and I was the one who edited the thread title. That is odd.

Trae and Sexton are both top-5 picks for me.

And he has liked some tweets about playing for the Suns. This one is the last one:

Coming into the year I was mostly intrigued by Mo Bamba, but I think I'm officially on the Trae Young bandwagon. The way he sets up defenders reminds me of Nash as well as his risk taking with passes.

He may struggle athletically but I think he'll more than make up for it with his skill.

A pg rotation next year of TY, Canaan, and Mike James would be ok. Sorry Tyler.

I'm getting more open to taking Trae with our top pick, depending on where we land obviously. There will be a good big with our 2nd pick and we can move up if needed.

I wouldn't pick him ahead of Ayton, Doncic, Bagley, Porter (if fit), Bamba in the top 5.

However from pick 6 onwards I think prospects like Jackson, Knox, Sexton, Diallo etc... carry their own boom-bust profile as athletes needing to learn better basketball skills, while Young has shown his upside already.

What worries me is that if you take away the Steph Curry narrative what is the story for how he projects in the NBA, there's only underwhelming examples left.

I'm looking forward to seeing what his bad games look like as there are several areas that need to be tested - sustainability of off the dribble 3s, finishing at the rim against length, on ball defense vs scoring PG, decision making against a defensive PG.
